Ok, I had this custom made dog crate from 20 years ago but never used it, its like new. My police sergeant friend made it. So I had an idea after looking on the internet at home made lofts. So I removed the dog house, put blocks in there and assembled the crate and then put it in on its side, the floor is on the right side so that they could stand on the mesh so the poop would go thru. The blocks are to keep it high and dry. So the door opens down like a ramp, cool and they have a shelf up the very top where u can see Herc setting.

So tonight I put a cover on top and side for privacy till I can get some plywood to enclose the sides and back and will leave the front open and will lays shingles on the top. Im going tomorrow to get two latches to lock them. Right now the one latch is tied shut with two bungies.

Wow, that is a really great setup. I think they're going to be really happy living with you.

Ya, Posh is on the ground and Splash is on the stick and Herc is on top of the box.

I put a tarp over the top and back and partially on the front top area, then slide a hard sheet of plastic on the left side when facing front and this gives them a bit of security for the night. I have a nice peice of plywood in the garage I think will fit perfectly for the top and will shingle it and I am going to either put a screen or lattice lower front to stop the pigeons from going under the cage between the blocks. So it looks like the white pair love eachother now and wont let the dark one bother them. K rotate them half day each out of the loft and into the run. Seems like they want to be together or near but he bothers the hen and then they fight back so this works for now and I may actyally clean out the other side and seal the top so he can be beside during the day and locked in pen at night. So I will see how it goes. For now, this works fine.

Just curious, why don't you want the birds going underneath the cage? The reason I ask is my outdoor birds go underneath the houses all the time. I'm asking in case I shouldn't let them under there.

I don't want them doing that for two reasons. I can't get them if they crawl far back enough to put them in for the night. I don't want them foraging around in their own poop that drops there.
