Hi, last month, one of my female Glosters had a clutch of 4 eggs, 2 of which were fertile. I waited and waited but the chicks never hatched. So I opened the eggs up and the babies were dead inside and dried up. I figured it was a humidity problem so on her next clutch of 4 eggs, I made sure i sprayed the eggs and the mom with a bit of water every other day, and guess what? all 4 babies hatched yesterday and the mom is feeding them YAY!!! I'm happy I saved them this time. |

Thats awesome!!!, but I think I can save u a bit of time. I have in my breeding books that you only have to spray the last two days to hatching and that in fact if TOO wet from spraying all the time, they can also die from being too moist. U can google that info. I know there is a danger of drowning if too wet. Good job tho!!!! Cant wait to see those bubs

Yup I know that CBL, but I sprayed a tiny bit in the beginning and much more towards the end when the eggs really need more humidity. With the other females I am spraying on day 7 then on day 11 and 13.. They hatch at 14 usually. |

I have to remember this. The last set of eggs that the Peckerhead's had, one was hatched partically but had a dead baby in it. I buried it out back. I will spray the next time just in case. |
