Remember how I got a new cage for Peanut -- the really big one -- 6 feet by 3 feet. She looked so lonely in there and ever since I got Peanut, I've been reading how they love and thrive with another of their kind. I don't like buying animals, not because I won't spend the money, but I rather get one that needs a home. So, day before yesterday, I adopted Cupcake, another guinea pig.

First night together, Peanut started a fight which is normal and was to be expected. The next day, they were eating side by side. Now they're best buddies (both are female as I don't want to breed). It has been interesting watching Ducky -- he's still at the guinea pig cage and watches both of them and does not seem alarmed or jealous that there's another animal taking up Peanut's attention. I've watched him go in the cage, steal one of their apple slices and scoot on out to perch and eat their apple (even if I give him one of his own).

Well I think Peanut will enjoy her new buddy. She will probably be a lot more active and she's probably stunned to see one of her own kind. ha ha Will be interesting as time goes by the see what Ducky is really thinking. Maybe he just likes their treats.

Took some photos earlier today. I'll upload them later.

You should see Peanut, she seems so happy to be living with one of her own kind.

It's like a freaking zoo in that room. In one room, I have the following:

Ducky
Fred
Ethel
Pippy
Powder
Mr. & Mrs. Peckerhead
Little Peckerhead
Peanut
Cupcake

Wow, that's 10 critters living in that room.
