He really is such a big goof! Managed to weigh him for the first time there yesterday. He was on the stand where my gram scale was. He tends to follow me then i start talking to him so i talked him over ontop of it. He weighed in at 348 grams. Not too bad since they can weight from 200-550 grams. Jacey has his trial visit at work today! If it goes well i will be able to take him to work with me on saturday. Only problem is he is not neutered yet. They tend to not take unfixed dogs as they are usually too much of a problem. I do see how it can be, but jacey is also still a puppy really (10 months on Halloween) so im hoping it goes well. I Have every intention on getting him neutered come Christmas. |

Feeling a bit over my head lately with Jacey. I've been kenneling him a lot when im working but 2 days ago i came home a found a bar to the kennel broke. As in he broke the welds. So a bar was bent back into the cage. There last night i saw him licking his paw and i found a cut on his paw. Well more like a stab wound. The bar went into his toe and right out the other side. http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/302166_10150409789554889_624764888_8104231_1817966070_n.jpg Thats the picture. It doesn't look too bad so im not too worried about it but i just feel like total shit that it took me 2 days to find out, and that he has that crazy separation anxiety that he would break his kennel and get hurt to start with. I'm honestly not sure what to do anymore. I got a friend trying to help but its hard with her in school and me working. We hardly ever gets any time together. I honestly figured if i kenneled him enough he would eventually give it and just learn to chill out in there. Im not giving up on him. He's part of the family but im just feeling so defeated over him right now. On a side note. He's getting neutered some time next week. Im currently bidding on a spay/neuter through a rescue group. it was donated from the vet i current use so i'd like to get it as my money would be put to good use, but if not im going to call around once i see's what im paid on Tuesday. |

Enna how old is Jacey? Get that neutering done as soon as it is time. He is a boy, he is a spaniel, he is full of energy ... it's going to take a long time. Neutering should help....you have done everything you can. |

He may need to see a vet for meds, it looks red. Is he licking it too much. May have to wrap it. You could use a vari kennel, all plastic cage instead of bars, may help. Covered and less stressful for anxious dog. Or cover his entire crate with a blanket, if he won't pull it thru and shred it. |

Enna, hang in there, its tough and I admire your big heart. I went to the local humane society, spur of the moment thought, went in to see the dogs but I realized its too soon. How wonderful that your little one has found its forever home |
