wow on that cat. I'm glad she saved him from being put down. How sad to do that just because he's different. It's not like he doesn't have quality of life.

That parrot was funny.

Loved the video. Made me think of just how much we judge by what we are taught is the "norm" and anything else is less. This cat is clearly happy and loved.

Cathy, yeah people do tend to judge by what is norm and if anything less, it's not worthy. Much too sad. I'm glad that kitty and that lady are together.

Now, when I get animals to live here, I want the unwanted as I want to give them a chance at a life.

I have really noticed the change especially with pure breed dogs, it seems so many breeders are breeding for physical looks. And because of that so many pure breed dogs have health issues and personality issues. In our family so many relatives got dogs around the time we got Robbie who was a mixed breed. Obviously I am predujice about my dog however he lived to be 18 and was a little lovely. So many of our family dogs were pure breed and wonderful but had major and ongoing health issues and died young. My nephew right now has a 5 year old fox terrier, I love that dog but she has major health issues, had to have one eye removed and has lost almost all vision in the other. Our vet said it is because breeders are not being careful about dogs that they know carry the genetic defect, if they are physically perfect for the breed they take the chance. All for some physical definition someone decided was perfect. I really notice this ridiculous idea of going for the so called physical beauty in our service industries, worse now. All these pretty people that are useless at there jobs. I am from the hospitality industry and for years my GM always hired our summer staff for their looks. We had the most stunning men and women at our front desk, usually really nice, but also usually not very bright. It killed me all he cared about was how pretty they were. One year he let me hire and I hired qualified people of all ages and we were so balanced out we complimented each other. Best season we every had and he hated it. All because we are programmed to want to see pretty people. So sad. Not that pretty people cannot be bright, but looks should not define people. Wow am I ever on a rant. lol
