Girl, I hear ya, had a few of those in my time with no fence and it was brutal.
Thats exactly why I refuse to do the training for a living, not worth my potential severe injury. You have to be willing to take a big bite now and then and or risk ur life and limb.

Did it once with a HUGE rottie and never again. I won, but only by the skin of my teeth because he had a leather collar on that I had a good hold of and pinned his head to the ground with him protesting all the while growling this evil gutteral growl that meant he would try to kill me if he had the chance. Had the owner not been there to hook him up and take him away, I shudder to think how it would have ended. Not good for me Im sure.

It can be hugely rewarding but the risk is too great. Im sure Ceasar has had a FEW bites in his career. I dont get paid the big bucks so no deal hahah.

You know Maryann....I love dogs ...but it would only take one time for me and I would be afraid forever.

I have met people like that at the park that were afraid of EDDIE! Can you imagine that?

It hurt my heart to see their REAL FEAR. I mean Ed has had 2 Pit Bull encounters but being Ed I guess

he makes friends with anybody. BUT, BUT, BUT.....I will NEVER forget the LOOK they gave me as

the led my little Ed away. It was like "move and we will kill you and your little precious doggie."

I got the message! Ed came back on his own alive and well. Just can't go there anymore on that

subject. :(

I just dropped her off for her spay. I feel so bad for her -- I heard her screaming when they took her back and were weighing her. She followed me in like a very good girl and then I turned her over to them. She doesn't know the reason why. First I wouldn't feed her this morning even though she was crying for her food. Then I left her with strangers.

Oh well, at least I get to pick her up today about 4:30. I'll make sure she gets lots of love and attention when I bring her home.

I hate that. Hang in there, she'll be home soon. Let us know how she did.

She's home and totally and utterly exhausted. Even so, when I took her out of the car and placed her on the grass, she looked around and you could actually see it in her eyes that she knew she was home. She looked happy. I bet she was wondering what was happening to her while she was at the vet and wondering if she would ever see home again.

Her tail was wagging and she walked to the front door. I let her in and carried her upstairs.

I took a few photos of her sleeping. She's out of it. I'll post those later when I download them.

Oh, and I had her microchipped while she was under.

She's already eaten though not a lot. She was too tired. Imagine that -- a pig too tired to eat, LOL.

They said I could feed her when I brought her home. She had 1/4 cup of pig chow and then later another 1/4 cup. They fed her some vegetables after she recovered from anesthesia.

I'm getting ready to download the photos so I can upload them here :)
