I had just fed the bubs and they were on my neck still bitchin for food, next thing I know without me putting him there, Inchy flies onto my neck to feed the bubs. I was giving Booboo some formula in his cage via syringe, so was not paying attention to Inchy and his feeding, no need, if he decided to top up the bubs, fine. BUT... next thing I know he falls off my neck onto the counter on his side with his mouth full of goop and seeds he was puking for the bubs. I guess, he had too much of a mouthful or that the bubs didnt want it so he was stuck with it in his mouth, gagged or aspirated or choked on it and was semi fainting I guess. I WONT let him do that again. I saw him do the similar thing when he went into the brooder yesterday to try to feed. He kinda flopped over on his side. I think if they dont feed right away, he gets stuck with the mouthful and nothing to do with it. That was VERY scary to see him fall like that. How horrid would that be, to lose him like that. On another note, was at the feed store today and saw two little one day old baby ducks calling and calling, so I went over. Big mistake. They came running over, tripping over themselves to try to climb the little fence to get to me, then would fall on their backs. So I picked them up and was pishing back at them and the one just cocked its head so he could look up at me sideways with his eye. It was so cute. When I held them to my mouth and face, they were happy and stopped calling and would just snuggle. They were safe and happy. I went back 4 times to them to hug them up so they would not stress. Made me SICK to think they would just yank them from one day old from the mom. How cruel is that. If I had a proper safe place to house them at nite and was sure no hawk would kill them, I would be inclined to buy then. |

My heart almost stopped at the Inchy story. I should send my friend over to your house to build a proper enclosure for the ducks. That would be so cool to have ducks. |

R u kidding me, unless it has a motor attached, he aint into it. We are working at throwing out a bunch of stuff to make the spare room into a bird room with an outside flight attached to the large window, so they can fly in and out as will. We ended up dumping a huge pile of outside stuff into the bin that the roofers had and we cleaned out the shed, the two rooms are next. That way, when I want birds out in the east flight I can pick and choose and walk them over in a small cage, but the west sun is the warmest and best and I cant WAIT to get that room done so I can move them in there, linoleum floor and big window with west side sun Its gonna be a HUGE job as the room is packed with bookshelves and a huge commercial size desk and sewing machine and just tons of stuff I have to throw out.

It's just getting started and I sure wish I had help cause I am so tired when I get home from work and it's late and then just two days to have fun???? shop, etc. clean ....hoo hum just can't seem to get it all done. Depressing to me. But ... I'm not gonna let it get me down.

Vi, do what I do. Make a to do list, and pick only one chore at a time. Whatever day, get to it on ur own time. That way, when u break it down, it's less intimidating and not overwhelming. |

Maryann, I only started doing that and it's a great way to feel I accomplished something. If I think of all I have to do, it becomes overwhelming. However, if I just concentrate on that one thing on my list, I feel like I got something done and feel good instead of overwhelmed. |
