Kayo, my cinammon conure got bit by Peepers, my g.c. conure last night. I had let Kayo out of his cage to visit Peepers while she was in her cage...I'm trying to introduce them together and possibly breed them next year. The way it's going maybe not! Anyways, she gave him quite a nip, and drew blood. Poor thing couldn't put his foot down for over an hour, and held it up the entire time. He moved around the cage really well, and ate food like nothing had happened. I checked on him this morning and his toe looks good. Just a little bit of blood still there. I went online to learn how to introduce male to female conures, and there's not alot of info. Maybe I'll go on YouTube and see what I can find. I'm in no hurry with this, it just goes to show you even though they are opposite in sexes they are still very territorial, and quite nasty. |
