Crazy Bird Lady

So far Pass, the yellows with the lilac breast layed after the purples and they had 5 eggs. Found one broken out of the nest yesterday so decided to look in and found 4 full fertile eggs :) Hen is sitting nice and tight.

Seccond pair started before and have 6 or 8 eggs, and 4 look fertile and are not as far along as the yellows :) I suspect the yellow hen will be a wonderful mother. So far the lilac male also seems to have a much more stable calmer personality than the purples, so am optimistic that they will raise their own clutch.

Either way I have Inchy and Booboo on fake eggs on the same schedule for back up. I may just pull a chick/egg from each anyway to give them to keep them feeding in the event that any of the goulds abandon theirs.

Well, Booboo is doing a cute thing. If he tries to steal my hair, I then get a few squares of toilet paper and shred them and stick them in the bars in front of his nest and he takes each and every one and painstakingly puts them in and around the existing eggs without burying them. He is a master nest builder :)

Then I just grab him off my head and pop him into his nest and he immediately runs in and sits on the eggs. During the day, he yells at me and then attacks and pecks my hands and fingers if I dont hand feed him some egg or veggie or lettuce while he is in the nest, he gives me Royal shyte lol. He is such a character. My big little man.

Pass do any of your goulds tell you to "kiss their ass" lol.

The lilac male is doing this very strange thing every time I approach the cage to add for or change water or whatever? He will turn his back to me, and raise his tail high and point his bum at me????
Maybe he is part skunk?

I told my hubby he is warning me to kiss his ass???? hahahaha too funny. Is this a defense mechanism, a warning to stay away from his nest??? I have never seen any other male do this. Bizzare or what? What looks so odd is that his tail goes so high like a wren !!! Looks funny. At first I thought he was straining to poop but realized that he does this on my approach each and every time. Weirdo. Now I have to think of a play on words with that message in mind and find a unique name for this bird. Any ideas???

Like, Bendover,
ór ?????????????????????
