Ages ago, maybe on one of Pass' photo's I mentioned some birds I'd seen in the local bird pet shop here. Well just looking round the web I've found a picture of one more or less similar, although I think the one in the pet shop was more fluffy. Might have been slight difference in colour, as this is by memory, but certainly made me think of the one I saw anyway. http://birdpets.onenessbecomesus.com/Birdpetspt5.pdf (It's the picture on page 2). Such a pretty bird. I know nothing about Canaries or Finches, but it was so eyecatching colourwise to the others. Isn't it pretty.

Yeah, I did a double take at that one when I saw it! lol When I was at the breeders getting Lewis he had a picture of a budgie like that ... crested? Can't remember now, but it was rather strange to see a budgie with a 'toupe' on it's head!

Those are color bred canaires. Saw some really dark ones at the show, almost a burgundy red. |

I'd never seen a canary like it, I thought all canaries were yellow! It was a pretty little thing. Can't imagine seeing them THAT dark though CBL, they really wouldn't look very canary-ish to someone like me, with no idea generally at all. The one I saw though was very eye catching. It was with the other finches and canaries.

It's so true isn't it, the more you start to learn about something, the more you realise how interesting and how much more there is to it than you ever realised!
