Vi's right, you mustn't blame yourself. With them raising the orange head fine, it wouldn't be automatic to think there could be problems this time around.
I'm so sorry about the chick, I know how excited you were for it.

Vi, Im just sick of learning the hard way. I have to figure out why they raised the first one perfectly and not the next two. Has to be the lighting. I was afraid to supplement as pass said as I have aspirated chicks before. Now without the supplement, they die anyway. I am gonna wait and set up the lilac with a yellow hen, that way I will get lilacs first breeding.

I dont want to do this unless I know they will feed during the nite or if I can find these pipettes to help where I dont have to remove the chicks from the nest box.

Another thing. As soon as I get birds home here and they are on my feed and water, they get the mounding poops, so something in MY house is causing that. Is it the acv in the water, is it the water period? Is it the seed, which is BRAND new expensive vitimanized seed??? I am going to go with straight tap water, no vits or meds and just the odd greens from the grocery store. Im sick of chasing problems.

Maybe the acv is too acidic for them. Will see how it goes.

Maybe it's just because the food is new to them. Like when you change a dog's food.

Just a little at a time until they get used to it. Not everyone is used to "healthy" living. ha

Vi, could be, I will give plain water and seed for a bit to see if it cleans up. Could also be stress but I think its the feed and water change.
