Pretty cute eh :), very sweet and calm and unafraid so far. Not the least bit skiddish.

Well I have been putting Zipper in with the other finches and canaries now in the big flight as he jumps at the corner of his small cage he was hatched in and tried to get out. So I go back and forth here and there. What I marvel at is this. U can pick him out of the crowd of 4 bubs easily as he stands majestic, more upright and totally unafraid and very calm. He just stands there wonder, why are all u nutbars fretting and flying away from that hand. He knows the hand as something that he gets kisses for, feed and cuddles. It really is hilarious to see. He just sits there, turning his head to and fro like, hmm, whats all the fuss about. The entire time I have him in hand, he is cupped near my face and I give him smooches on the side of his cheek making the kissing noise, he seems to like that.

So now he had a free flight in the bathroom with dad, and a bath and they are under the drying lamp as I type. I just love his calm demeanour and hope it stays. He wont step up like Inchy but he will set there and let me just grab him up. He loves his seed and greens and eats very well.

The noted difference with him and the 3 I had fed is that he seems a bit heavier in weight and more plump and healthy compared to mine that seemed more lean.

I guarantee he will make an excellent parent bird one day as Inchy was STELLAR!! I cant say enough about him. Inchy is the dominant of the pair of dads and the most recognized for feeding as I basically only ever saw Zippie beggin to him and not to the pied. 'I have seen the pied feed Zippie when in the nest. But Inchy was certainly the "dad" in the family, doing most of the fledgling feeding. :)

I adore Inchy but have to ask how is BooBoo

Booboo is fine, he is still the terror of the flights, he thinks he is an eagle and not a finch. He is hilaroius with his charging one chirp attack. He really is mighty lol.

Tell u something he did that was funny and heroic. I had the finches and canaries in the flight. Inchy was soaking wet from a bath and could hardly fly up to a perch, so ANY other bird who went near him was terrorized by Booboo, so he was protecting him from any harm. It was a pleasure to watch him defend and take care of Inchy.

Those two love eachother like family. If Inchy is in his cage, Booboo will fly to him and start singing to him thru the bars. If they are out together, they hand and have baths together. If Zippie or the other pied society are out, Booboo chases them away.

So he likes his blind hen, me and Inchy and he will defend us all as his own property lol. Nice to be owned by such a tiny creature. What a privilage. :)
