Another special needs bird; OMG r u kidding me!!!!!

Crazy Bird Lady

I am done being everyones dumping ground.

Well after taking this spangle hen that I think is a carrier of megabacteria, and taking Jacks birds that ended up spreading scaly face to a handful of my birds, and after losing about 5 budgies to going lite. I am done taking
on cases from others irresponsible breeders.

Now I have this lady friend/judge trying to pawn off a deformed 12 day old linny. One leg is pointing backwards and the other 90 degrees sideways towards the other leg. I said no. She even threatened to kill it to try to make me feel guilty or change my mind. I said, do what u have to do, but u COULD finish handfeeding the bub and give it away for free to someone as a special needs bird. Im sure someone would take it.

Long story short, my friend Jill agreed. The one that had the meltdown and then apologized. She will take it.
I loved my linny, but I didnt like the loud contact calls it made and swore I would never have another.

Anyway, Im not a dumping ground and she can think twice from now on. SHE can pay a vet and have them attended too. She just wants the easy way out. Step up and be responsible for what u breed..

Thats my rant.

No, this is a breeder judge who doesnt want to spend a penny at a vets. She had this sick tiel that was going lite and I told her to go to the vets for at least a fecal or blood and she declined, just hand fed it till it died.

She must make soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much money over the years breeding like 4 clutches of greys a year at 1500 a baby and average 4 chicks per clutch, not to mention the hundreds of tiels she breeds and sells, and linnies, and conures. So why not have an account for the vet payments. I just dont get it.

Another thing, if this hen keeps sitting too tight to damage the legs of the chicks or if it is a birth defect, STOP breeding that bird!!!!

This is the second time now.

Vi, ur gonna be pissed now, check this out,

I cant believe this outcome.
That breeder came with the linny baby.

Its legs were good and screwed, remember I agreed to go to Jills
to look at the bird. Jill was supposed to raise and keep it. That was
the arrangement as I didnt want a linny as I find them too loud with
the contact call similar to a tiel.

Well, I get the bird, it is SUPER cute baby in pin and down stage.
It looks to be grey and the breeder says it is gonna be either blue or
blue edged, which translates to near enough SPANGLE. So anyway,
it has the opposite of splay leg, it had sever pigeon toe to the point of
one leg was completely backwards 180 facing and the other is 90 degrees facing in.

Long story short, I hobbled it with a giant block sponge between its legs
and taped the legs open to the outside of the sponge so they cannot turn in.

Well as soon as the breeder saw that it was fixable, sheRENEGGED and took
the bird BACK, I was stunned. She smelled MONEY. She said if it is an edged
that she has had a lady waiting two years for the bird and will sell it
for 450 bucks and if a normal then 300 bucks. I was so f'n pissed.

How dare u toss a chick aside as a right off and the second u see it is
fixable, take it back. I told her she was VERY lucky I had decided not
to take the bird because I would have NEVER let her take it back and
I told her that. Seems Jill didnt give a shyte if she had it or not and just
let it go without batting an eyelid. How ruthless can these people be.

I already was in love with it the second I kissed it up and it was peeping to me.
I had to be hard hearted tho as they are loud. Pity. I wish it the best of luck
and hope its legs stay well and that it gets a great home, NOT with the breeder.

Sickening I tell ya. Just sickening.

u are right. I'm pissed. How can you breed all those birds and not know how to take care of them?

I don't get it. Seems like she just kinda used you. Told you she was a bitch. Guess it's the same thing with puppy mills. The whole world is just about money.

Ya, definately used, she was gonna kill one sec and now sell it for 450 the next. What a rotten money grubbin witch. I discussed it with my other male friend and he and my hubby both say from now on, charge her a fee like a vet. Which I will next time. An exam fee and treatment as well. That, Im sure will cut her favors down as she is EXTREMELY cheap.

OMG r u kidding me!! check out the email that bitch just sent me regarding the linny.

First I need to state her exact words. She called me to say, the linnies legs were sideways and backwards, and do I want it, if not, she will KILL it. HER words not mine. So her email is a full of shyte bunch of lies thought of after the fact to justify her stealing the bird back and not appearing to be the lowlife that she is.

After the whole fixing it and re-negging on her part, and all I did was ask for a donation of a small sample of her sprouting mix, and she has the F'n GALL to send me this email. She is officially cursed today by me. So correct me if Im wrong, u were gonna kill the bird and forfiet ur 450 because his deformed legs made him worthless to the point of death to u, but yet, now, NOW he is a money pit. F- YOU!!!!

Read on.....

Hiya Maryann,

The little fella is doing well... struggling against the restraint but fine. Again, I'm sorry about the misunderstanding but my goal, and the reason I drove for over 5 hours, and a using a full tank of gas ($60. I filled up before I left and the "getting empty" little gas pump light came on as I pulled into my driveway) was to provide any opportunity, no matter how small, for this baby to correct his legs. (what we won't do for our birds huh!) Please understand that we are on a single income and Pat makes little more than minimum wage so anything I can bring in with the birds goes back into their food, toys and care. Like many folks, we go month to month and do the best we can, putting the birds before our own needs and wants. I know you're used to getting free birds but I just can't afford to offer this. $300-$450 might mean the difference of what bill gets paid. I had hoped that you'd offer to help when I asked as we are friends and not expect a compensation after the distance I drove and $ spent to get there, just as I was more than happy to deliver your Foys order since coming up anyway. That's what friends do... help each other in times of need.

All the Best,

Doesnt it make it sound like its all my fault and that I made her come up here????? Like she is justifying why she renegged and is a low life scum. Give me a break. After my blood stops boiling I will post my reply to her here. I swear to God Im gonna have a nervous break down. I QUIT, QUIT QUIT QUIT.

My friend bob gave me a great piece of advise. He said this. Maryann think of it this way from now on. Get it in your mind that if I dont charge money, you are depriving your hubby, dogs, birds and yourself of things that are needed and lifestyle and overhead.

GREAT advise bob. good work. Thanks. Since I dont seem to have the worthyness to charge for my own skill and knowledge and I am overly nice, I need to think differently for the sake of my family and pets. Ruthless Rizzo is back :)
