Crazy Bird Lady

Well here she/he is, went home now, I took the dna blood sample and off it goes. She squawked at me when I cut 3 nails to try and get blood but she never bit, what a good bird. :)

I pray for her to be a hen. :)

Ok, this is her before she came, fluffed, spot line protruding, and looking miserable in the corner of the cage.

Here is how it came to me

First day here, I gave her a bath, for a total of 3 times in two days.

No doubt, but the price tag is 850 dollars :) I look forward to a bub from them. He said if I hand ween for him, I can have one. So, I have to think about that, as I am 46 years old and a new bub would outlive me and who do I trust to hand over the bird, I have no kids.

CBL .... I'm just really, really upset. Those before pics were just SO SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Could you do me a favor and send before/after pics to your "friend" before he turns her into a breeding MACHINE. So he can see what a LOVED BIRD is suspose to LOOK LIKE. :ermm:

The stupid guy at that store should see them also. :X

That bird touched me she just looks sooooo sweet. I'm sorry but that was just really sad for me.

She looks so beautiful now I just can't believe it. I wish you could have kept her...but I'm just being selfish because you have enough on your plate.

You look very pretty by the way. :)

Sorry (think I'm ranting) anyway I am surprised that she hasn't plucked her feathers aren't you?????

Birds don't hang over like that unless they are sick right? I wish those men were here I'd like to step on their ugly f..... faces.

Sorry again... I'm shutting up now.

Vi, both me and my hubby would keep that bird, boy or girl, its wonderful and was zero maintenance. All I did was talk back to her when she initiated conversation. Offered her everything I was eating, hung out with her when she called for me, and brought her from room to room when she asked. She was a pleasure to have. The only reason I am not going crazy thinking about it is this. For her to adapt INSTANTLY with no stress to my home and me, makes me sure she will adapt wherever she goes as long as she gets the good food, proper maintenance of feathers, human company verbally and hopefully parrot companionship. If she gets those, then I know she will be fine. I just wish I knew the guy from the bookstore as Im sure he gave the bird to the pet store for free to get rid of it. Its not like I cant afford a thousand dollar price tag, its just something keeping me from jumping on it, not sure exactly but??? I cant put my finger on it. I think its self preservation. Like not wanting to get too attached in case something bad happens. I already got attached in such a short time. It would be suicidal if anything happened. Even the hubby is making jokes, like, oh, my bird, where is she. I told him not to do that as it would kill me. He named her Squeaky. Why I dont know, cause she makes deep croaking sounds hahah, but he said he heard her make cute squeaky sounds. I said it was a wimpy name for such a majestic bird, but if we were given the bird, I would let him name it whatever he wanted. I somehow see an amazon in my future, u never know, it may be her/him? Only God knows. I am rather proud of how well she came around and how beautiful she cleaned up after only being here for 2.5 days. I was also proud of myself on how I was able to get her to trust me so quick and how treating her similar to all my other smaller birds, worked with a large parrot. I surprised myself, and truly felt I deserved the name CBL :)
