Well Violet,
Here's a yellow I bred back in 2004. That's the normal yellow not the australian but they look the same.. almost.

Oh my gosh Pass..........thats my guy. Yours is even prettier than the one I saw. I love, love that...what a beauty. I guess you still don't have that one? This is prob. a stupid question but can two boys live together? Or do they have to be a mated pair to live and be happy? That little birdy gets me excited...wonder if I could get one around here. hummmmm

Yes Cathy, I think so too :)

Violet,
Two boys can live together no problem. Actually I keep many of mine in pairs of the same sex when I'm not breeding them.

Thats one handsome bird man. I hope mine comes into nice condition now that they will have excellent feed and vits. They are in shyte coat right now. I hope it moults out well. Pass, I notice tho that the yellow I have has a darkish spot on the left shoulder back area, and the head is not quite as nice, so either a hen or a young of either sex not fully moulted out? Also she has a sway back not a nice straight back and that is the opposite of hump back. What is the breed standard for the gouldian hens, any different from the males?

I have a few more pics, will load today.

Pass, I cannot get photobucket to load all day. I think one of the birds I got is a male, the one with the white breast, I think is male. When u see him side by each with the other two, his belly seem a bit darker. Will see I guess, when I get the pics to load, still wont load..
