Ok, what the heck, I went to the UFC last nite and when I checked the second egg, it rolled to one side, and looked blotchy, I told hubby for sure this will be dead in shell, even tho it had red veins still. Got up to pee this am 5:30 and went and checked, dont know why, morbid curiosity I think, I was sad thinking yet again, a lonely one bub, but what a shocker to find a fine healthy bub under the parrrotlet hen. I guess I will never learn. Certainly the internal view of a gouldian is MUCH different than any other birds for candling. Soooooooooooooooooooo glad I did not toss the egg, I would have let it rot for a week before, because u just never know. Pass, I notice a distinct difference in color of the heads, the first has a lighter pigment than the second, wonder if the second is gonna be a black head. Will look up the colors of the parents and post them and maybe we can check the gouldian forecast, I only have version one, do u have two? Enjoy the pics, I know I am ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() By the way, went last nite to see avatar and loved it, said to hubby, if u could guess what eden may be like, that was it. Found it to be almost inspiring, heavenly, loved all the tree of souls and the purity of it. LOVED it. I want my own avatar lol. |

Pass I think you should go ahead and set up a finch section. So many members have finches and the rest of us just plain love them. So please could you add it. |

OH CBL!!!!!!! I think u have a blue Gouldian there.. Head color doesn't change the skin color in bubs, however green, yellow and blue series bubs have different skin tones... Hold on for 10-12 days and we will know for sure, but I'm telling you bubs are of different mutations. I will add a small finch section since you are ok with that. |

Well definately different skin tones for sure. Will be nice to see what turns out. These r the parents. One set of parents were white breasted with one black and one red head, (WB BH and WB RH) and the other set was WB RH and PB RH, so what do u think? |

You cannot tell the head color or the chest yet. I'm guessing one of the pairs was split to blue. We shall see

Yup, If both parents were split to blue u might get a blue Gouldian... I have 4 of them but still in juvenile plumage so here's a pic from the internet: ![]() |
