I have a friend who came to town for a visit. Anyway, he's staying at a motel a few miles from me. He really likes Ducky so I brought Ducky along. We spent the day together -- all three of us. Anyway, later in the evening, we wanted to go out to eat so we dropped Ducky off at his hotel room. We turned out all the lights so Ducky would just go to sleep while we were gone. The Chinese restaurant that my friend wanted to eat at was across the street. As we walked back to his room, I was wondering how Ducky was doing in a strange room, uncaged, all by himself. I was kind of excited to get back to see him and see how he was doing. Didn't have to go in the room to find out. As we walked up to my friends room, I saw Ducky perched on the windowsill looking out, waiting for me. I have NO IDEA how he managed to do that. The room was dark so he must have seen a sliver of light coming from the curtains (they're blackout curtains so it's really dark in the room). Somehow, someway, he made his way over to the window area but what I can't figure out is how he got up on the windowsill. So there he was on the windowsill looking out with the curtains behind him. When I went in and parted the curtains, Ducky did not try and climb on me. He was just standing there looking out. Finally I picked him up as it was time for Ducky and I to go home. One of the funniest things I ever saw, LOL I wonder what people thought as they walked by seeing this naked bird looking out the window. |
