I can't talk about it tonight because I have to go to bed. I will say i am not happy with myself and the neglect of one who has loved me so many years. I can only say that I have been selfish and that now I see the light. |

Oh Violet, whatever it is, if you can, please talk about it. Sometimes a perspective from someone uninvolved sheds some light that you might not see. |

Dear Friends, Thank you for your care and concern. It was not my intention to alarm you. Please accept my apology for being so thoughtless. I MUST stay away from the keyboard when I am feeling sad. I guess I've just been worried about Eddie. Starting tomorrow Eddie will have to be confined to the kitchen. I know that doesn't sound like a big deal to you but Eddie will be very upset and will probably scratch the paint off of my door. He won't understand because I have turned him into a little person. I mean we are talking about the guy who used to watch Aminal Planet everyday while sitting on his own couch. Also, having many, many worries over a family member which is making me very sad. I know that we all have problems and so that is why again I say .. sorry for being so thoughtless. On a brighter note. I must be doing something right with the birdies cause last night Herbert gave me a kiss. I was quite impressed. That is the very first time. |

is this because Eddie is incontinent. If so have you thought of sometimes using doggie diapers? Just a thought |

Yes I've thought about those. What do you do? Give the dog a bath everytime he goes? |

The other option is to leave him where he normally hangs out with a shower curtain or those liners for the bed when kids pee, u know the ones in the hospital beds. I did this for my older shepherd, it worked great, so he didnt need bathing as he just pooped where he lay and I was able to clean it up. Newspapers are another option on top of his bedding. Ed's not that bad off CBL. He just goes pee when and where the urge hits him. Everynight I clean up 3 for 4 different spots. The whole house is hardwood and the kitchen is black tile. You cannot see it and I have walked through it not even seeing it was there. You can't see it unless the light hits it a certian way. So first thing home I have to go on a hunt. Many, many nights I have mopped the whole house only to turn around a find he peed again. The hardwood floors are starting to suffer. I can't allow that. That would be really stupid and costly! He is just getting old and cannot hold it all day anymore. But......the thing that gets me is if I sit with him and watch TV at night he won't move. But if I get up and go into the bird room ...... pee is guaranteed. |
