Well I was lying in bed just now with the two bubs and the finch and the finch decided to JUMP onto my face, perch on my nose and grab my eyelids. Man that stings, he is a little chomping monkey and I may change his name to TWEEZERS, ouch. He does this if I dont pay enough attention to him, he does this little finchy war cry and jumps me like rambo in the fricken woods. I LMAO and grab him and thro him in jail, this is my hand cupped over him and then I fuss him up and preen him and he is happy, but if I deviate, I get the needle beak in the face hahahah. Mostly the eyes, he wants to communicate close to my eyes, he must know they are the window to the soul lol. He is a blessing and an absolute joy to have.

I really think they have a great personality, and thats why when I get mad when people think that little birds are disposable animals. They are just as intelligent as the bigger ones with as much character and brains. Just in a tinier package.

Through you and Pass I have come to really know finches alot better, I always thought they were beautiful but I also thought that they could not be tamed. I now know that this is not true. I may someday have one.

Cathy if u do, u will love it, but I think the only way to have a tame one is to either get a very young one like my fife canaries and I handled Smarty Pants daily for about 3 weeks when she was sick or injured and this is what makes them super tame. I would always pick her up, and kiss her first even if it meant a quick canary bite to my lips which is very light, not stront at all, actually it was more like a quick poke in the mouth, they dont really latch on. And by doing this everytime I picked her up for treatment, she tamed right down. I can go to the flight anytime and pick her up and give her kisses and a few rubs and she has no fear and usually fusses me up back. They are the BOMB. Gotta have them :)
