Ducky getting annoyed

Ducky, as I mentioned in my other post, hangs out on the floor. He has this new spot on the carpet next to the sliding glass door. I have watched him perching on his cage and all of a sudden slide down his cage, march himself across to his new favorite spot.

So what does he do when he gets to this spot on the carpet? He will either just stand there or rub his beak across the carpet, back and forth. He can be at this new spot for an hour or so until he has to go potty or get a bite of food in his cage.

Yesterday was especially funny. My sneakers were in his area and for whatever reason, one of my sneakers was exactly in the spot where he needed to be. I could hear him make his annoyed and frustrated sound as he pushed the sneaker out of the way. Finally, when it was moved, he did nothing. He just didn't want it there.

I was having a bite to eat while he stood there and it was something he would like. I put a little in a small dish for him and placed it in front of him on the floor. He ate it and I picked up the dish and put it in the dishwasher.

Strange bird -- every year he finds a spot for himself and I can't figure out how he's choosing these special spots for himself. This spot is in the wide open. Oh and by the way, I'm not allowed to hang out with him there. It's his spot so I have to walk around him. He attacks my toes if I get encroach in this little area that he has declared to be his.

I just read it again -- *I* put it in the dishwasher -- LOL, not Ducky. Once he starts doing that, I'm going on stage and promoting Ducky's talents! :D

I'm the slave, not Ducky.
