What do you think about me giving Eddie 1/2 tab of 25 mg Benadryl???? He just had his bath with Natural Oatmeal soap. After bath his skin turns bright red. I though about doing this before but never wanted to knock him out. That stuff makes me sleep. Poor Eddie those tumors are going to be the death of him. When was it?... just a few weeks ago he got off the antibotics (sp?) as soon as that was over they went right back to leaking and smelling. What really makes me mad is when I called the Vet again. He told me to put a scarf on it!!!! What??? I have 6 clean scarfs on hand at all times. Also, I think its important to let it get air. Sorry .... didn't mean to go on and on just wondered what you thought about the Benadryl? CBL I hope you are feeling a little better. Sending you another BIG, BIG hug. Vi |

Thank you Vi, yes the dosage is 25mg to 25lbs of body weight, I know this as my trooper is 100 lbs and the vet told me to give him 4 pills. So if he is half that weight of 25lbs, then yes, give him half a pill. U will find that it does NOT grog them out like humans, my dog barely blinked at 3 pills. They metabilize it much differently. If in doubt ALWAYS contact a vet and they will confirm the dosage over the phone. ![]() Thanks for the well wishes, I just tried to go lay down and almost choked to death lol. I have to wait up till the hubby brings me meds to dry up the mucous. It is scary to feel the suffocation. The ugly part is, I know how that poor bub felt gasping for air. The thought has taken years off of my life. I would have much rather a sudden death than to see it gag for the minute or two. Poor little thing, I cant get that out of my head. |

I know you can't. I wouldn't be able to either. I just pray mine stay okay cause I wouldn't be able to help them like you do. You have probably tried this but sitting up in a recliner may help so you can get in a little nap. Everyone around here is singing the praises of "Mucinex." Being sick at this time is not helping your saddness. XXXOOO |

You need to get your mind busy on something else, anything else. |

Thanks Vi, I have seen those commmercials, do we have mucinex here in canada?????? I would for sure try that, it seems I only have their yellow cousin moved in to my mucous hotel, but it still chokes the crap out of me. I took a dayquil and was able to sleep for a few hours just now. Up now choking and making the dogs dinner. Cathy, the first thing I think of when I wake up is the blue bub and even when sleeping, I dremt about her. I guess when things r on ur mind, it takes a few days to settle. I am sad, but I have to continue to take care of my responsiblities, like all the other pets, and of course myself hacking for now. I was dreaming about dogs as well ????????????? lol, my mind never rests. I do some of my best thinking when un or semi conscious. |
