He's trying to defreckle me. Last night he drove me nuts. I was working on my computer, Ducky on my shoulder. He was preening himself. Not a problem -- UNTIL -- he decided that he had a lot of work to do on me. Pick, pick, pick at my freckles -- digging at them. I guess he thought they were bugs that needed removing. I would stop him and before my hands touched the keyboard, he would resume his attempts to remove my freckles. I'm pretty patient with him but finally I had enough. So I did what I normally do not do with him -- I yelled WILL YOU STOP IT. I said it loud and very sharp. He had this look of shock on his face, I serious, he looked shocked. What on earth was I yelling about, he was doing me a favor by removing those bugs. So I resumed what I was doing and he stood there for a moment and sure enough, he resumed his task of removing my freckles. That's it, I had enough. I removed him off my shoulder, stomped to my bedroom and put him on the headboard to go to bed. It was late anyway and past his bedtime. I return to my computer, finally free of that pesky bird for a while and start updating my blog. A few minutes I heard a noise. Uh oh. There he was, heading straight towards me. Now keep in mind what he had to accomplish -- he had to climb down off the headboard, walk across the bedroom, into the hallway, down the hallway, cross the living room, into the dining room. For him to make that long trek at 11:00 p.m., he has to be on a mission. And he is. I do nothing to help him out, in fact I totally ignore him. Doesn't matter, he heads over to me, climbs up the chair all the while I am ignoring him. He then climbs back up on my shoulder and sure enough, resumes removing the 'bugs' off my face and neck. That annoying bird, at 11:00 p.m. left the bedroom and make a long trek just to pick at my freckles. I finally gave up after trying to type and took him to bed and pretended I was going to go to sleep. I climbed into bed and waited for him to settle down. He did after about 5 minutes. I got up and went to my computer. OH MY GOSH ... he followed me about 15 minutes later. Yep, my Ducky can give an aspirin a headache. |

hahahaha LMAO hahah, that made me laugh out loud, how could u do that to Ducky, after he so lovingly took good care of u, shame on you hahahah. I guess that would hurt eh? A large beak like that. hahah. Even my tiny little budgie and finch pinch my skin and it hurts. I had this teeny scab on my face after plucking out a hair and Inchy decided it had to go and he pecked and pulled at it in a split second and made it bleed, that little monkey, he got turfed too, right back into his cage hahahaha. |

He's not really hurting me unless he digs too hard. What he does it take the tip of that hooked beak and start digging like it's a shovel. Sometimes to reach a good freckle, he hangs on my shirt collar and with that hot birdy breath breathing on me and digging with that hooked beak is sooo annoying. And once he starts on his quest to remove those 'bugs' he won't stop. Yeah, I can laugh with you guys today but last night he was sooo annoying, LOL. I was so shocked when he got up out of bed after 15 minutes and followed me out. What is that bird thinking, that I won't last the night unless he removes them? It's really late by this point so I would think he would be really sleepy. AWWWW your birdy did what Ducky did -- he had to remove that scab so you'd be all better. And I know how those little birdy bites can hurt as I've now been bitten by Fred, Ethel & Pippy. But I can tell you, they don't compare to when Ducky nails me. His bites can be lethal. Tomorrow I'll post how he nailed me the other day. I have a bruise on my arm from where he got me. I did not see it coming -- he just reached out and bit me on my arm because he was jealous that I was listening to a birdy thing on the internet. I didn't realize he was jealous until after I finished. I was so angry I yelled at him big time -- actually I was meaner than I anticipated. I'll tell you guys about it tomorrow and how he reacted. I still feel bad. No, I'll post it today so nobody thinks I was a monster towards him. Edited by Tishrei, Dec 19 2009, 05:21 AM.

A MONSTER? Girl you are hardly a monster to him. ha ha I caught my self reading and laughing and shaking my head at your story. That "Ducky" guy is really a pistol. Don't feel bad you are human and have feelings to.
