Crazy Bird Lady

Ok, I got a guy at the show that wants to give me a pair of mealy rosellas, r they rare, r they pretty, r they NOISY, most important, r they noisy, he said he got them 2 years ago, they whistle like a cockatiel and are colorful, when I told two other breeders of tiels about them, they freaked.

Whats the storey with these birds. Can they stay with budgies, tiels? He said they are not tame and that they thrash around the cage if u get close. He got them at @ 7 months old, can they be tamed down or what. Im back a the show tomorrow. Need an answer.

I saw them cathy and I agree all the rosellas are very colorful, but I am under the impression that they are noisy. Dude said he went away and gave them to his mom to hold and that they are in her basement, and I have a feeling they are noisy as he doesnt even want to take them back into his shed where he houses his canaries. So makes me wonder if he is just offing them to get rid of them. His mom is buggin him to take them back. He has not since 2 years now. I think she is sick of them also. If I took the, I think I would just sell them to a good home. I think they are better as aviary birds from what I recall reading before. Not sure if they are siblings either, will have to ask. If they are, they should not be bred together.

Maryann I am sure you are right, I think one of the articles I saw said "best suited for outdoor aviary" probably because they are loud. Be careful maryann what if you take them and they are incredibly loud and you cannot find a "good home" and you end up with them. Remember the tiels and the noise, if not, I will record Cappone on one of his LOUD days and post it for you...lol

No doubt, ya I made the decision not to take them right now. I will one day go see if he wants and access them but I think it would be a sale to a good home that I would be looking for and I would house them at a freinds so I dont become attached and then look for the right owner.

Good plan, you would hate to become so attached you do not want to rehome and have them be beautiful but LOUD
