Crazy Bird Lady

Ok, here is what I ended up getting from the tiel breeder, he had two nice pied males that he would not part with, no cinnamon pearl pied males, only hens I do NOT want, so I settle for this, we think male cinnamon lutino. His beak is overgrown, he is rumpy, and a little fat, so I am hoping he does not have any liver disease. George said that he had his birds checked for that and none have shown it.

The hubby wanted this little tiny teeny finch so I bought it for him, it is his official first purchased bird, he was so cute insisting he wanted it and INSISTED that we get a hen for it. I said no to the hen until I read that they are hard to breed, so I will get him a hen from the next show, I DONT want them to breed as I need birds like a hole in the head. So I figure it is safe to get her then.

Also picked up the feather duster today, she is older, 5 months old, dont get too much older than that. Her eye was caked shut, he vent dirty and her feathers too long for her to see anything. She is all groomed up now.

Last but not least, I bought 5 bucks worth of raffle tickets for a breeding cage with a pull out tray that is between 45 bucks at the show and 80 bucks at the flea market today. I wont the cage, really happy about that, BUT, it comes with two small english budgies hahah. One spangle and one opaline ? I didnt pay too much attention to the mutations as I did NOT want anymore birds. Anyway, may just end up keeping the birds. Whats two more? GOD.

Oh CBL I just don't know what to say. My, my, my....first off that tiel is really beautiful. How many tiels do you have?? The finch is just gorgeous. Such pretty colors...am I seeing right is his beak red? How come he looks wet?

The Feather Duster. Wow. Thanks for saving it's life. Wonder what causes that and already 5 months old.

Well I hope she lives much longer. I just don't know what to say about that. I guess I need to read up on it.

Sounds like you had fun today. I love going to the bird shows. I think I already told you this but, in August when I went the birds there didn't look so good and neither did their owners. ha ha

The finch flits around before I can catch it and it flops into its water dish lol. Hence the wetness. Yes the beak AND eyes are a funky painted color red, not lutino type red, very bizzare.

Well of course I love the lutino tiel. lol. Of course your hubby chose the smallest of birds, its gorgeous, what made him decide on that bird? The FD OMG, its 5 months, was it being cared for as a FD? Leave it to you to win a cage that came with Two more birds. lol.

Well the raffle cage just arrived with my two new SMALL english but very pretty budgies. One is a grey spangle hen, and the other looks to be either grey green or spangle.

Have to see him in the light of the am, its 11:21pm right now and I dont want to freak them out too much.

I sure wish we lived closer. ha ha I would be so HAPPY to take those two. When I was first looking for budgies I sooooo wanted the English type but could never find any around here.

When I went to the bird show this year I did spy one. The lady sells birds and lives near me. But she and her birds are one of the ones that didn't look so good.

Besides 10 is enough for now I guess. I love, love, love the grey green one.

Ya, I have to get a better look at him, he looks much lighter spangle and light grey green. Will see this morn. Still early and going back to bed, had to get up and take an allergy pill, ragweed season u know. :)

Ok, he is not a normal green at all, he seems to have a darker golden face and with a wash of yellow that dilutes the normal green. He is a seafoamy color. very handsome.
