here are some pics of my hybrids for those who dont know what a hybrid is , I'll explain in the bird world a cross breed is called a hybrid a good hybrid is a 50 % 1 parent 50 % the other . Duke is a rainbow lorikeet crossed with a scaley brested lorikeet the result is ![]() ![]() ![]() Nibbles is a Major mitchell cockatoo cross a galah ( both are from the cockatoo family ) if you look you will notice the colour difference ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I do like hybrids especially when the end result is better than the parents... However, I think the rainbow is better looking than the hybrids

dont get me wrong I like my normal rainbows but if I had to pick 1 I would pick Duke 1 for his colour and 2 for his nature he is not like a rainbow he has more of the cheeky scaley nature than a rainbow , 3 his size he is the size of a rainbow not the small scaley. Karen did you know that Hybrids are NOT licenced . that means people with out a licence can buy the bubs with out all the crap |

They are gorgeous anyway Nat. I used to hybridize Canaries and Goldfinches to make super songsters. |
