Thats why they looked so strange to me. Maryann I saw those mole rats when they had them at the Toronto zoo. They are so freaky looking, but make the most incredible tunnels.

Hhahaha Cathy, me too, and until I sent the pic and then a pic of my canary bub, is when I realized that they were stark naked and funny looking, weird eh? But they sure turn from ugly ducklings into beautiful swans :)

Hi Nat,
Since those bubs are going to be green, they'll have when they first get feathers, an olive back and dark heads, but they will get their colors later and their heads won't necessarly be black.
Here is a baby Gould:

CBL,
Yes the nodules fall off later and they serve a dual purpose. First off, like the breeder said they indicate to the parents where they should put the food, but also they trigger the feeding behaviour as well. Goulds are programmed to start feeding as soon as they see that blue circle of light glow in the nest.

I hope you get the goulds CBL

It'll take a while. Something between 4-8 months. Although I once had a female that colored up at 2 months.

Hey gang!
Here's a fresh picture of the growing bubs. I forgot how noisy they were, just like baby budgies. They are 11 days old today :)
