Welcome to JUICED - a general chat community that focuses on providing an enjoyable place to visit and participate in. JUICED was first established in early April as a closed community; meaning that registrations were only allowed for 24 hours once a month. The idea worked surprisingly well, though it tried up after a few months and we ultimately decided to open the community for good. After another few months and a unsuccessful merge, we're back, and this time, we're here to stay!

Guests who are not registered or logged in only have access to viewing the Community Information sector. To post, participate in the community and ultimately become a member of a fast-growing general chat forum, please take a few minutes to Register!

Ok, I'm from England and currently at college doing a BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners, I have the rest of this year and next year doing this course and I'm kind of thinking of going to university, but not sure whether I do or not, I don't really want to specialise to much as I want to be able to have a bit of variety when looking for jobs instead of one particular career path, I was looking at the University of Kent and was thinking of either Computer Science with a year in industry, http://www.kent.ac.uk/studying/undergrad/subjects/computer_sci.html or Web Computing, http://www.kent.ac.uk/studying/undergrad/subjects/web_computing.html with a year in industry. Any advice would be brilliant :)

From the links you give, it looks as if the Web Computing course would be more profitable for you in the long run. The options it gives would a nice addition to anything. Of course, it is up to you; take a class because it's what you want to do, not just because it has a couple of added benefits. Hope you find what you want to do. :)

That is just it, I asked because I wouldn't mind doing either so I needed a bit of help in deciding is kind of what I was after. The web may be more profitable but I am leaning towards the Computer Science one because it has more options at the end of it and not one set career path, I don't care about earning lots of money, just enough so that I can have a few creature comforts now and then.
