JUICED was first established in early April as a closed community; meaning that registrations were only allowed for 24 hours once a month. The idea worked surprisingly well, though it tried up after a few months and we ultimately decided to open the community for good. After another few months and a unsuccessful merge, we're back, and this time, we're here to stay! Quoted: "When astrologers speak of the planets being aligned they don't mean that the planets will actually all lie on a straight line at some instant of time. One calculation of alignments within around thirty degrees (about as close as they can get) shows that the last such alignment was in 561 BC, and the next will be in 2854. All nine planets are somewhat aligned every 500 years, and are grouped within 30 degrees every 1 to 3 alignments." http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/98424 Howcome water rises if you hop inside it? Your volume displaces an equal volume of water, forcing it to rise. This is how you measure the volume of a solid. What is the deepest place on Earth? |

Challenger Deep in the Marianas Trench is 10,924 meters below sea level. A mile deeper than Mt. Everest is high. When there is a tidal wave hitting land, (After a big earthquake underground) before that the sea water like goes all the way out, why is that? |

It has to do with the displacement of the water, the earthquake or tidal wave pushes the ocean up in one spot and when that spot reaches near the shoreline it pulls the water from the shore to fill in the gap that was created and it all comes in and hits in a big wave. How do hard drives and flash drives work? |

It stores the files...duh :P I have no idea. How is it that humans only use a small percent of their brain power? |

Because some of us are too lazy to think or give up too easily. I know of a few people who look at a problem and str8 away say it's too hard they give up. However, when you tell them to actually think and give it a go, they are able to work out some of the problems. It is usually caused by the laziness and wanting someone else to do something for them. Sometimes humans just need a little nudge to get them started. How does water evaporate? If it is heat how does it make water evaporate? |

First off, I don't accept the answer to my question, but more importantly, humans DO use their full brain capacity, frequently in fact. Have you ever gotten a headache in the top of your head? That's from using your brain to its limit. You are pushing it constantly. Humans may be using their brains fully but the actual thing is that they are not using all of their brain at once. I think that is where the idea we aren't using our brains fully spawned from. We might be using only 10% of our brain to do a certain task but we are using 100% of the power. If people weren't using it fully it would start to shrink from evolution and that is not the case. xD If anything it is being used more and getting more powerful. Flash memory is a type of EEPROM chip, which stands for Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory. It has a grid of columns and rows with a cell that has two transistors at each intersection (see image below). The two transistors are separated from each other by a thin oxide layer. One of the transistors is known as a floating gate, and the other one is the control gate. The floating gate's only link to the row, or wordline, is through the control gate. As long as this link is in place, the cell has a value of 1. To change the value to a 0 requires a curious process called Fowler-Nordheim tunneling. |

Legend, the water molecules speed up from the rise in temperature and eventually gain enough kinetic energy to change phases to gas. |
