| Welcome to JUICED! http://zbjuiced.net Welcome to JUICED - a general chat community that focuses on providing an enjoyable place to visit and participate in. JUICED was first established in early April as a closed community; meaning that registrations were only allowed for 24 hours once a month. The idea worked surprisingly well, though it tried up after a few months and we ultimately decided to open the community for good. After another few months and a unsuccessful merge, we're back, and this time, we're here to stay! This is a quote, I don't personally know but: "The earth's rotation divided this circulation into three cells. The earth's rotation is responsible for the jet stream as well. The motion of the air is not directly north and south but is affected by the momentum the air has as it moves away from the equator. The reason has to do with momentum and how fast a location on or above the Earth moves relative to the Earth's axis." http://www.srh.noaa.gov/jetstream//global/jet.htm If you look at the inside of a spoon, you see yourself upside down, why is that? |

It's from the way the spoon is shaped and how it interacts with light. How many gallons of water are there on Earth? |

326,000,000,000,000,000,000 gallons. How do ships stay afloat when it is so heavy but rocks sink? |

It has to do with the volume and density of the ship, as well as the shape. The shape wants the boat to cut down into the water but the density, because of the air inside the boat, is less than the water in the same volume. So, the boat floats. :) Is it possible to go faster than the speed of light? |

No it isn't How does 'dry ice' manage to 'burn' you if you touch it? |

Theoretically it is possible to go faster than light, we have observed photons doing so, but we don't know much about it. Dry ice "burns" you because it is so extremely cold (Around -110 F) that when you touch it because of the heat transfer from your hand to the ice. In a normal burn it is the opposite, the hot object transfers heat to your hand which burns, but with dry ice it is the opposite. |

Before I answer that, does this mean the 9 planets in our solar system or do you not want Pluto included? |
