Welcome to JUICED - a general chat community that focuses on providing an enjoyable place to visit and participate in. JUICED was first established in early April as a closed community; meaning that registrations were only allowed for 24 hours once a month. The idea worked surprisingly well, though it tried up after a few months and we ultimately decided to open the community for good. After another few months and a unsuccessful merge, we're back, and this time, we're here to stay!

Guests who are not registered or logged in only have access to viewing the Community Information sector. To post, participate in the community and ultimately become a member of a fast-growing general chat forum, please take a few minutes to Register!

Here's what the planet might look like if the ice caps completely melted:

Not that bad as you can see... and if you account the new warmer land that can know be used it's all gonna be fine. :P
On the note of the robots taking over. Robots will one day certainly get smarter than humans but that does not mean they will take over. First off, you make a failsafe, secondly you don't give them free will. You make sure they are limited in what they can do. You don't give supercomputers that can out think people the ability to make lethal weapons, example: terminators. <.<
Robots are already smarter than humans. If we play a computer in chess it won't ever make a mistake like we humans do. Robots are only programmed to obey us humans but they are still a hell of a lot smarter than us. What do we do when we want to find out an answer? Go to a computer and normally google it or go onto one of the programs.

In my opinion Global Warming doesn't bother me too much but I do believe the following:

- water level will rise from temperature not melting of polar ice caps
- polar ice caps will melt from temperature and there will be no home for penguins and polar bears
- climate patterns will change and nature will become less predictable

Oh crp I forgot all about the penguins and polar bears. Where you think they'll go?

They'll probably move south and try to adapt to warmer climates and lose some fur for the polar bears. They do go south a bit when feeding. About the penguins however, they will probable move north but for those that live on the ice it will be hard to adapt (emperor penguins). They will most likely die out.

Robots are not smarter than humans. This is hard to explain but I will try. Just because a computer can beat you in a game of chess does not make it smarter. Chess is a predictable game, it can be played by using math and complex algorithms. That's what a computer does, it will run through all the possible moves and choose the best one. The computer is predictible, humans on the other hand are not. They can do things machines will probably never do. Humans may not see all the moves, but there is always the ability to do the unexpected.
Computers are not near as complex as the human psyche, computers are only programmed to do certain things. Humans can learn, they can do anything they want to do within the boundaries of the universe. Computers cannot, they cannot learn like humans, they can only do what they are programmed to do. Just because a computer can do its task faster and possibly better than you does not make it smarter. In the end it's just a machine and some lines of code.

Hmmm, come to think of it there are some things that a computer may never be able to do no matter how much programming goes into it. In certain games like Renegade for example, we have this thing called rushing where we all get a stank and rush the enemy. Factors in that rush are to not attack the enemy and wait in line and go in a formation. I doubt computers would ever be able to do that.

I also notice in Westwood games, when I destroy the computers construction yard, (the main building) the computer has a war factory but they NEVER get a mobile construction vehicle to rebuild it. Also, we humans may know the best spot to launch a nuclear missle so it will do the most damage. I notice that when the computer launches their superweapon, they ALWAYS aim for my weapons factory, even if it is on the outside of the base all alone where it'll do no damage in the long run...2000$ is nothing.

We can think independently but computers cannot. Is that what you are trying to say Kamikaze?

I agree but what do computers have to do with Global Warming.

Also, the analogy of a game is weird.

Well, first of all the AI in any computer game, I don't care what you praise it for, sucks. Computers that are smart enough to take over humanity would need to be extremely clever and analyze every variable. This is possible but unlikely unless people give them the power.
