Dump Cake

2 cans apple or cherry pie filling (or use fresh fruit. If using fresh fruit add some sugar to it.)
1 20 oz can crushed pineapple with juice
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cube (1/2 C) melted butter or margarine
1/2 Cup nuts (almonds, walnuts or peanuts, chopped)
1 11X14 in. pan

Spread pie filling in pan. Spread pineapple over top, including juices. Sprinkle cake mix over top and pat down with spatula. Sprinkle nuts on top and drizzle melted butter over all. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

This sounds like a great one to take to work. What do you like best, the cherry or apple?

I wonder if blackberry filling would taste good. I have a surplus of those these days.

They are both really good. The cherry is a little more tart tasting, and if money is a factor, the cherry pie filling is quite a bit more expensive.

I think you could use just about any fruit pie filling. There is a recipe for pumpkin dump cake using pumpkin pie filling that is really good, too.
