Tired of just a hot dog then try this favorite of mine. Franks With Apples And Onions: Makes 4 servings. Ingredients: 4 hot dogs jumbo (1/2 lb. total) 2 tbs water 1 6-oz can apple juice unsweetened apple juice 3/4 c 1 onion medium thinly sliced 1/4 c brown sugar packed 3 apples medium Golden Delicious peeled and cut in chunks Directions: Score frankfurters. In a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, cook frankfurters in water until browned and plumped. Set frankfurters aside and rinse skillet. Place apple juice, onion and brown sugar in skillet. Cover and cook over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until onion is tender. Stir in apples, cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until apples are tender. Add franks, cover and cook for 2 minutes or until franks are heated through. Posted under pork also. |
