Follow these steps to get a character on IL: 1. Read the topics in this forum. They're all important, and contain a lot of information about how things work here. 2. Write your profile, and post it as a new topic in this forum with the topic title as your character name. 3. A mod will come along, and read over your profile. If it meet all our requirements, it will be moved to the Trainer Database and you will get a PM telling you that you're accepted. If not, you'll still get a PM, but it will tell you why your profile failed. Fix those problems, and you're welcome to try again. 4. Once your profile is accepted, you can post in your starter town. This post can be nearly anything you like, from getting your starter pokemon, to heading for a route, to sleeping in and missing a test at school! If you're stuck as to what to do after that, make a post in the ReQuest Thread asking for a quest. A mod will take your call as soon as possible. Name: What did your parents call you? What does everyone else call you? Age: In years please. You can include a birthday if you like. Sex: Two choices here guys. Starter Town: New Bark Town, Violet City, or Goldenrod City Starter Pokemon: Pick one of the three starter pokemon from your starting city. Background: Listen up, this is important! Your background should be no longer than 500 words. I don't need to know how you spent every single day of your childhood, just the gist. Keep it realistic, creative, and thematic. If your background is too long, too cliched, or wildly unthematic, your character will be rejected. Every rejection will include a PM with justifications, and you are welcome to try to fix your profile and apply again. After a total of three submissions however, you will have to try again with a different character. Description: You must include a written description of your character. Be sure to include things like hair and eye color, height and general build, and any distinguishing marks like freckles, piercings, or scars. A picture is welcome in addition to, but not in place of, the written description. Personality: What's your character like? Is he the first to enter battle? Is she a brilliant strategist? Give us a glimpse! This part doesn't need to be more than eight sentences or so, as actions through roleplay speak louder than ramblings in an app. Hooks: This is an optional part of the application. By providing three good character hooks, you may pick one bonus from the list. A 'good' hook is determined by the approver, and is a one shot-deal. See the hook topic for more information. Bonus: If you provided three hooks, which bonus are you picking? Edited by Squid, May 2 2008, 11:26 PM.
