Each land has different characteristics. Although closely connected areas have much in similarity, some lands may differ greatly. Thus they have slightly different set of rules for each land. Universally, the currency is Sens [it is usually spelled uncapitalized]. However the form of the money may differ. Such as it may be in the form of paper or in the form of coins or perhaps rings. However even with all these, the gates have a habit of changing these currency into its physical form in a certain land. The gates however, at the same may also change a small physical trait. Such as sprouting animal ears or a tail. If a certain land has most of the population having tails, you shall have one as well when you travel to that certain land. Your clothing and other items, however will not change. Strangely enchanted weapons and such are not affected and will still have effect although it may be reduced greatly. At the same your power; mana, chi, will change accordingly. If your character uses mana, it will change to chi when arriving at a chi-using land. You will also be needing to learn techniques according to the land as in cases, it is most likely that you will not be able to use your previous techniques. However all these differ from land to land and gate to gate. Edited by Jeviherei, Apr 3 2009, 01:43 PM.

Sakia Sakia has peculiar geographical features regarding lands. As the result of unique magnetic field of the land, the soil actually floats on top of the water. These floating islands then form an axis among a single point of the vast sea and there they stay. These lands have long been shrouded in peace as fighting over a land would merely result in land damage and sinking of the island. These long peaceful periods of time have brought a rich culture in the land, allowing the people living to focus much more on other things. One of the most magnificent pieces of culture is the craftsmanship and enchantments of Sakia. Sakia is mainly divided into three kingdoms according to their crafting specialty. Kuanis specialize in craftsmanship regarding items of all sorts. Their crafts are widely known for its details and beauty, some living in this land of magic refuges to ‘dilute’ their crafts by using magic during the crafting as well. Socercroes is a land in which is famous for manipulation spells that relate to alchemy. They usually supply Kuanis with its ores by using the sea water to create ores needed for crafting. They can also create raw gems as well in which they are famous for as they inscribe spells on them. Saisana is a kingdom famous for its spell writing. The lands have three main biomes; temperate forest, desert, and savanna that reminds mostly of oasis. This lack of biomes doesn’t allow much of diversity in species living in the area, thus people of Sakia must grow some plants in order to survive. As a result of lacking space on islands, their architecture is based on high tower-like structures. Usually a large tower will stand in the middle of the island and smaller structures will surround the tower. People of Sakia usually wear silk clothing with extreme amount of detail. Because of their love for details and beauty, their clothing tends to be layered and designed to show off one’s definition of beauty. This reflects upon children as well, although they may not wear as many layers. Spell castors and Enchanters may wear as many as ten layers with a dark cloak. Strangely only few jewels decorate their clothing and those jewels usually tend to be enchanted. Craftsmen tend not to wear as many layers and instead may wear a simple version of other people in Sakia. Edited by Jeviherei, Apr 6 2009, 07:48 PM.

Sharo The world of Sharo is divided always had been for as long as people can remember. They see that wall, and assume that life in Sharo was like this for forever. What they don’t know is that long ago, this world was like any other. It had no wall to separate the good and evil in people, or yin and yang. One was not satisfied with the world, however, and his name was Jubaku. He felt that the world at times were too evil, and sought to change it. Jubaku tried many different ways of course, fighting in the army, helping the poor and needy, and even building homes for single mothers. He was still not at peace with the world, and devised a way for it to be in balance with his beliefs. Let good people be in one place, and evil people in another were his thoughts as he devised his plan. It started out innocently enough, the two sides of the world, where Ray is now was the country of Aeire, equally home of chivalry and greed. Shade stood in the shadow of the other great nation, Shana, where love and sin were in abundance. As the wall was being built, with the consent of both nations, he prodded them into putting Chi Crystals all throughout the wall, for defense purposes he told them. Jubaku also argued with them to only allow good people into the wall, so no person with evil intent on using the power in the wall is allowed access. This was, however, just another way of keeping evil people out. When the day came that the wall was finally completed, and all the crystals were in place, was the time he launched his plan. With the untold amount of Chi at his disposal with the aid of the crystals, he broke the soul of the whole population, putting the yin and yang out of balance. Where Shana was, all the evil in people’s hearts, their yin blanketed the entire nation. War broke out over night. In the land of Aeire was a completely different story. Instead of war there was peace, no more greed but acceptance for what they had. Jubaku didn’t have any time to feel happy about what he had done to the world; he died on the spot after completely altering the world as everyone knew it. A few brave knights tried to go over and help out the land of Shade (Shana). They never came back, pulled into the evils of its shadow. None of the evil escapes though, due to the power watching the wall. This was his plan all along, to just face goodness every day in his life. To do this, he intended to make half the world a hellhole. Present day…… The two sides have an uneasy peace between them, a live and let live attitude. Each side has regained some of their yin and yang balance, however, the wall was not invincible. Slowly over the hundreds of years, Yin and Yang have crept back into alignment. There are those who want to change that, and keep things the way they are. These people are among the highest ranking officials in each nation. The first one, Juba, named in celebration of what Jubaku did, lives in Shade. He is the torturer and executioner of the Warlord in the shadows. He is also his spymaster, gaining hold over practically every power in Shade. Because of this he has uncovered all the secrets of how Yin and Yang have been imbalanced. He likes his power, and will do anything to keep it, including making more people miserable. The final one, Akumu, also named in for Jubaku, lives in Ray. While living in that nation, he felt pride and happiness, but as his counterpart spymaster, he too found the secrets behind the wall. The evil coming back into this place caused him to feel anger, and racism towards the people of Shade. Normally a nice and chivalrous guy, he joined up with the darkness of Juba to achieve the goal of keeping the walls split. As of today, their goal has been somewhat successful……. The people of Sharo Altogether they are a normal people, faithful to their ideals and acting like everyday people. This excludes the complete split of good and evil between the two nations. There are two extremes of people in Sharo today. They are the deceitful underhanded crooks of Shade, never trusting anyone and feeling no remorse about crimes they have committed. Then there are Ray’s people, always having a fun time even when working. They are all confident, believing in their nation and its people. It is not often to see an act of kindness within its borders, even to an abandoned child walking the streets. The two nations have completely different styles of clothing, giving a wide variety of styles to choose from (as you are creating a character). People from Ray tend to wear bright, light colors, with a gross amount of jewelry. The style of clothing they wear is a robe, while in the summer a sort of kilt for men, and dresses for women. The only exception to the robe style is the children, who wear pants and shorts to play in, including the girls. Shade’s outfits are the complete opposite of Ray’s, lending a more dark appeal. The colors are always dark with black of course. Due to the chaos that is Shade, there are no factories to make beautiful clothing, so most of it is handmade. This leaves it ragged on the edges, almost a style within itself. The style of clothing is a simple shirt and pants/shorts. This goes the same for everyone, including the minor warlords to the orphaned child. |

Deska Environment Information Deska's geographical structure is much like that of Earth, but with a few major differences. First off, Deska only has one, massive ocean known as the Pearl Sea (due to its almost perfectly circular shape). The waters of this ocean are completely translucent and is the habitat of hundreds of thousands of species of fish, crustaceans, mammals, rays, and even reptiles. All along the shore of this ocean are small waterfalls that lead to wide, fast flowing rivers. These rivers (a majority of them being freshwater) form intricate web like patterns all over the planet's surface. Surely without these rivers the living conditions on Deska would be much more harsh and brutal. Because of the lack of large bodies of water, Deska has more than enough land to allow its inhabitants plenty of elbow room. In fact, only about 32% of the planet's surface is covered in water. The planet's soil is also much like that of Earth's and is more than accommodating for the growth of crops and other plant life. The planet's natural resources, while dwindling due to the cities of Deska relying more and more on the irreplaceable resources, are mostly clean burning fuels. Meaning that Deska's atmosphere is very clean and also very safe to breathe. Deska is the home to billions of life forms including everything from the lowest common house fly to both giant land and ocean creatures. The land these creatures call home is one of variety, beauty, and danger. Like Earth, the closer to the equator you get the warmer it gets and the further you get the colder it becomes. At the planet's poles are ice covered continents containing towering, jagged mountain peaks that reach well above the clouds, dense green forests, and frigid oceans littered with massive glaciers. Unlike Earth, however, these areas only reach a low temperature of about 8 degrees Fahrenheit. The unusually warm climate for such a snow covered area allows the citizens and creatures alike of Deska to inhabit these continents without fear of freezing to death. Near the equator, however, the land looks completely different. Here large, grass covered plains, rocky mountain ranges, humid jungles, and marshy swamps dominate the landscape. This is considered the most populated section of the planet due to the comfortable weather and abundance of water. It is also where the most large and fearsome of Deska's wild creatures call home, making life here relatively dangerous but exciting. Even though the landscape on the planet's surface is very accommodating and spacious, Deska's true beauty is found under the planet's crust. Large stretches of underground tunnels snake through the planet like arteries and veins in a human. Inside of these tunnels are raging rivers, priceless gem stones/metal, and even underground cities. These tunnels lead to large, gaping caves, many of which are still unexplored mysteries. Here, the creatures of the night reign supreme. Diansi Diansi is the capitol city of the planet. It is overpopulated to an extreme extent, but it is also one of the safest areas on the entire planet of Deska. This is true because the entire city is shrouded in a massive, circular outer wall that acts as a seal that limits the use of using spells and command techniques inside of the city. Surprisingly, considering the sheer amount of people in Diansi, the city's crime rate is relatively low. The city itself is separated into two main sections, the outer ring and the inner ring. The outer ring is considered to be the "lower class" district where the citizens are forced to live in cramped, slum-like conditions. In this section of the city the Government Safety Officials (GSO's) act as law keepers and have absolute say over basically anyone that gets in their way. It is a very corrupt organization led by the nobles of the city that instills fear and dread into the hearts of those who break the law. Hence the very low crime rate. GSO's have a tenancy to beat you to a pulp and then ask questions later, if you're capable of answering them that is. The inner ring of the city could almost be mistaken as entirely different world compared to the outer ring. Inside this district the citizens live in luxury and comfort. Here it is not nearly as crowded, this is because only the most wealthy people can afford to live there. It is a life of prestigious parties, fine wine and food, frilly clothing, and lots and lots of under-the-table politics. It may not look as brutal as the life those are living in the outer ring, but looks can be deceiving. It is dog eat dog in the inner ring, or better yet, penny pinching merchant eat underhanded politician. Vesia Vesia, the planet Deska's second largest city, isn't much to look at upon first glance. The city's true vastness is revealed once one travels underground, deep into the heart of the true Vesia. This underground city is home to millions of Deskian citizens, as well as an entirely new ecosystem of wildlife. Here the inhabitants earn a living through mining and mineral crafting (i.e. black smiths, jewel cutters, etc.). The city is naturally lit through large holes that litter the planet's crust, but is also unnaturally lit by electric lighting and even through the glow of strange insects that line the safe walls throughout the cities. Life here is basically the average of the two districts of Diansi, the city isn't nearly as crowded nor the people of the city as rich. The people who populate this city tend to wear very conventional and practical clothing, usually in colors varying from a light tan color to a more navy blue color. The citizens of this city are very hard working and are also in great shape because of it, you don't see very many fat people wandering through Vesia unless it's a tourist. |
