General Information Character Name: Trissan Player Name: Jemma Gender: Male Age: 19 Rank: Senior Apprentice Harper Character Information Appearance: Tris is tall, long, and lean. He doesn't take great pains with regards to his appearance, figuring that as long as he looks presentable and behaves in a nice enough manner it's fine. His clothing is usually in dark greys and blues, easy enough to find and good at hiding dirt. Comfort and functionality are the two things he looks for, but somehow he manages to make just about anything he wears look like it is the height of fashion. He actually enjoys physical exercise (although he will never admit to it), and as a result has if not a well defined body at least a healthy and toned one. Added to that the blonde hair and stormy grey eyes his mother swears look exactly like her grandfathers he is a rather striking young man. His jaw is strong, hinting at determination that his eyes (which often have a far off look in them) don't even begin to hint at. The one thing he would change if he could would be his mouth, which he thinks is just a little too full-lipped for a man. This isn't very noticeable however, as his mouth is usually pulled back in a lopsided smile, and the twinkle that evokes in his eyes draws the attention of anyone else's. Overall he gives the impression of one who generally knows what it is he is doing. His confidence and charm, things he has worked on during his years at the Hall, make him more approachable, although sometimes he wishes others would stop approaching him. What grace he had as a child disappeared when he entered adolescence, and though he has been slowly regaining it the only time any vestiges of that grace are noticeable is when he is dancing. Personality: Tris is absolutely brilliant (although it barely shows), knows almost everything about anything related to the goings on in any given situations after a few minutes, can explain things so even a dunce can understand them and is very good at expressing himself in such a manner that regardless of what the initial situation was he almost inevitably comes up in the right. Since he often has to re-explain the leaps his brain takes to connect two things he is often laughing; instead of becoming irritated, as some would think he would on having to explain himself, he often finds it funny when others need things he sees as simple explained to them. So long as you are able to keep up with him there is no problem; he is an engaging person, easy to talk and argue with or sit with in companionable silence contemplating something. He doesn’t often confide in others but when he does that is the utmost sign of his respect. Were he to try at all he could probably have many more close friends and be more popular then he is but he doesn't. 'Fake friends', the term he gives those he would befriend while actually trying, are not something he is interested in, as he would rather people like him for himself then for who he tries to be. As a result of this, he rarely sugar coats anything, and isn’t afraid to tell anyone, including his superiors, exactly what he thinks of any given situation. He does have a sense of humour hidden away somewhere, it is just a bit off beat and since his smile is so small not many people notice when he’s laughing quietly to himself. This could be a good thing; if anyone was aware of how funny he found them most of the time, he would probably be in trouble for a greater portion of it. Long ago he stopped listening to what other people said about him and just did as he pleased, getting into and out of trouble and not caring too much. Luckily for him, his interests didn’t conflict with most of societies and so he managed to stay out of too much trouble. History: Trissan was born to a Kitchen Assistant at Harper Hall and his wife who was a laundress. He was forever underfoot as a child, either in the kitchens stealing whatever food he could find or getting in all the clean laundry and deciding that various articles were absolutely perfect for this or that aspect of a costume he was determined to make. His parents soon found that the only way to get him to stay out of trouble was to stick him near something musical and let him listen to it. Music was an integral part of his life from a very early age, and there isn't a time he can remember where he has not been surrounded by it. He began to follow some of the younger apprentices to their lessons and, as long as he sat quietly in the back of the class, he was allowed to stay. He would never do anything to jeopardize that particular privilege, and so actually had to pay attention to what the journeymen were teaching or go crazy from boredom. As a result his education in the Harpering ways started earlier then most, and so when he finally became an 'official' apprentice of the craft he had a significant leg up. He enjoyed all aspects of it (except copying) but quickly fell deeply in love with performing in front of an audience, either singing or playing an instrument. It was a good thing that he was actually good at those aspects of the craft, for that was what he wanted to do most often. When his voice broke however he had to settle for not singing for a while and simply hope it would come back nicely. In that intervening time he began to take an interest in writing the songs that were being sung, expanding his Harper talents a little further. He still wasn't very good at it when his voice settled (a good strong tenor with quite a range) but he was improving. It was around this time that the daughter of one of the more prominent Holders in Fort Hold began to take notice of him, and after a conversation with her father (who had decided that this had to be nipped in the bud) he found himself sent to the weyr for an undisclosed amount of time, to assist the master there who was getting on in years. He wasn't thrilled about the assignment, but managed to take it in stride, slowly but surely sort of taking over for Master Jansar where needed. He now mostly occupies himself with teaching the brats and playing in the Living Cavern in the evenings, as well as learning pieces for any special events Pets: Bronze Driden, two years old. He's rather protective of His and initially hostile to anyone he's never met before but quickly warms up to people unless they do something he really truly hates.
