Welcome!
We officially opened our doors on the 10th of March, and we're happy to be trucking right along. As noted in the Copyright & Acknowledgements thread, this game was made by players from the original "High Reaches Weyr: Fifth Pass," when the site creator went MIA. Many of the players had been having so much fun that we decided to reinvent the game on a new site, and continue play.

Plots & Rumors

Whew! That's a lot of colorful characters right there.
Plots & Rumors
- How can a Weyr survive a Pass with so few dragons? Well... When the Weyrwoman gets a wild hare about raising dragons in the past, the numbers could certainly bolster themselves awfully quickly, couldn't they? Soon, scouting parties will be sent to the other Weyrs to start looking for the best place to settle for a venture back in time. Alas, it won't exactly be on a volunteer basis, and there may be more than a few mad folks when the time comes.
- With raiders along its coastline, it's only a matter of time before Tillek Hold gets hit the way many of its minor seaholds have been. What's more, should Lord Taruky take it into his head to do something about this miscreants, he's sure going to get what-for when any one of his copious daughters turns up as a hostage.
- The Weyrleadership won't remain T'bay's forever - unless he manages to cling to it and somehow his Gesrith flies Osyeth. It's no secret that the goldrider and the acting Weyrleader don't get along, so which bronze will manage to step in? That queen will rise soon, and the outcome decides who leads the only Weyr left on the face of Pern.

IC to RL Time

The in character time is always easy to find on the Portal page, at the top in the middle of the page. This is a reference for the time that you start threads. Back-dated and out-of-order threads aside, of course. 
That said, the Admins will be deciding when to advance the IC time. There is no strict IC:RL ratio on this game, because it doesn't always make sense. Sometimes, there are flurries of activity - surrounding Flights, Hatchings, plots, etc. - and then long spells when things slow down and the thread rate is less vigorous.
We will make sure to announce in some fashion when IC time has advanced.

Hatchings & Impression - OOC Information

To Impress on-camera, a player needs to create a candidate character. To do this, be sure to include the candidate information in the character create template.
Please keep in mind that the colors you list are colors you want. If you list a chromatic selection and you are not chosen to Impress a metallic, you will be considered for your chromatic selection accordingly. Example: Mary Sue chooses gold/green; she is not selected to Impress the gold, so she is automatically considered a female green candidate and, provided she meets activity criteria, will Impress green.
Some things to keep in mind with regard to color selection:
Impressions of metallic characters will be handled via a game-wide vote. The #1 choice for gold will get it. The #1 and #2 choices for bronze will get them.
Please note that the Admins retain the right to veto any Impression!
As Stands Impressions (a character Impressing from the galleries while watching the Hatching) are rare, they will only occur at the discretion of the Admins. If you would like your character to have a Stands Impression, please PM the Admins as soon as you are approved to discuss the possibility.

Staff of HRW is broken down into three categories:
Admins
Admins have access to all staff abilities. They can approve characters; move, delete, edit, and create posts in all forums; ban players; and update the portal and forum areas. They can also approve and run plots, create ranking NPCs as needed, and offer ranking positions to other players. They also have special accounts to moderate the Chat.
Global Moderators
Mods have access to many staff abilities. They can approve characters and move, delete, edit, and create posts in all forums except the Information section. They can also approve and run plots, create ranking NPCs as needed, and offer ranking positions to other players. They also have special accounts to moderate the Chat.
Greeters
Greeters don't have any special abilities on the forum, but they are an integral part of staff. They are encouraged to help newly approved characters by joining or starting threads with them. They also have special accounts to moderate the Chat.
