Transfigurations Professor
|
"Five points to Gryffindor and five points to Hufflepuff," Professor Illiad remarked as he saw Valerie and Lucas both transform their coins. "Now, let's begin to wrap up. Class will be closing soon, so work hard to get those transfigurations down. If you haven't done it by the end of class, then at the beginning of the next I will expect to see you perform it. For those of you that have finished, I will give you your homework now." The professor tapped the board and words began to scribble across the black. One foot essay on why you think transfiguration is important. Use examples from your text book, Chapter One, The Fundamentals. Also be sure to mention the different types of transfiguration that we discussed today in class. "If you wish you can start now, otherwise feel free to talk amongst yourselves. Keep working, those that have not finished yet," Professor Illiad ended then returned to his desk to start his lesson plans for the next class. OOC (The homework is not mandatory. If you do it you will get anywhere from one to twenty points for your house, depending on how well it is done. To pass this class you will have to do at least one assignment, so you can pick which one you want to do. Once the second lesson is over I will not except anymore homework assignments for lesson one. Just PM me whatever work you do.) |

Karizma sighed after Kayla mouthed her good luck across the rooms. She just didn't have the energy to snap at the girl, besides, Kayla had done much better then Karizma had, even if the other girl seemed to be afraid of bugs. The Professor was giving out points for the students who had transformed their coins, and she realized even if a yellow bug was good enough for her, the professor didn't see it like that. She pointed her wand at the bug again, picturing it the right way. She waved her wand, and muttered the spell. Her ladybug turned red, but the dots were yellow, and not black. She put her wand down, and again just watched the bug. So what if it was diffrent, at least it was partially the right color. |

Lucas thanked Kayla for her encouragment, if that's what you would call it. He also noticed that she said good job to the evil Slytherin, who's ladybug was yellow. He lauged quietly, so that no one else could hear him. He copied down the homework, and thought about starting it, but decided he would leave it until later. It seemed that the evil Slytherin had attempted to save her bugs color, it had only slightly worked. He turned to face Kayla and Aurora, "I'm glad to see every other house is doing much better then the evil Slytherin," he said queitly, trying to ensure that the girl he was talking about wouldn't hear him. |

Aurora scrawled a note at the top of her paper to remind herself to get the work done. She paused though when she heard Lucas speaking. Aurora looked over at him, "You know, I bet they're not all mean... I've had Slytherins in my family, and they've been plenty nice." She said, Aurora really did hate the stereotypes. She then quietly said, "How can we expect a change in their attitude if we ourselves don't give them a chance." She began to draw a crest with all the houses molded together on her paper. |

Harriet, who was somewhat nearby Aurora, frowned. "What makes you think they want to change their attitudes?" She took out a pen to begin the assignment. It appeared to be ideal, because there weren't exactly any right or wrong answers. In the grand scheme of things though, maybe answers in themselves are impossible due to the fact that they try to assign concrete effects to abstract causes... Oh no! I lost my train of thought again! She quickly racked her brain. "Oh yeah," She continued. "It's impolite to attempt to change someone's attitude. Someone's attitude changes according to several different factors... how they're treated, how they feel, how well they sleep, several other seemingly meaningless things, and then their underlying character. One can't assume the right or authority to judge when and when not to attempt to change an attitude." She massaged her forehead, getting a headache. "Cus that would mean believing that you know what right and wrong is. But if you want to help her, or help anyone, I suggest you simply offer human kindness. The greatest blessing one man or woman can give." The headache pounded harder in her brain. "Good grief!!!" |

Aurora smiled up at Harriet, "You know, I really do like the way you think. You're so interesting! Make for wonderful conversation. But you know, I once read this interesting quote, 'Be the change you wish to see in the world'. So I mean, if we all were to try, couldn't that do something?" She asked, looking at her carefully, considering everything she had said. "Harriet, what are you going to be when you grow up?" Aurora asked, genuinly curious. "I think you should do something that requires your abstract thinking, you've got an amazing gift for that you know." |

"I've always wanted to be a doctor," Said Harriet. "The people at St Mungoes do incredible things to help people. And as for the quote," She said, smiling, "It says to BE the change. Not change someone else. In fact, that's the whole point of it. Be the change you WISH could be in the world. Because the only one that one has the right to change is onself, really." |

Karizma threw a glare at Lucas, she couldn't stand him, she hated him more then she hated her sister, and that was saying something. She went to retort when she heard Aurora sticking up for her, and decided not to say anything. She couldn't understand why this girl was being so nice, when she'd only treated her bad. Now the Harriet girl was yaking on about changing people, and Karizma decided she had no choice but to say something. "So you think my character is nasty do you?" she shot at Harriet, then turned to Aurora, "Thanks for sticking up for me, otherwise I would have had to hurt the stupid boy for using his mouth to much. Boys shouldn't be allowed to speak." |

Kayla didn't like the comment Karizma had made about Lucas, and boys in genrel. Considering she lived with 5 brothers and a dad( some of the time anyway), she was rather used to nice boys. So when it came to hearing rude comments concerning boys, she tended to get a bit defensive. She looked over at Karizma and hook her head warningly, and also mouthed the words, "Please don't..." Hopefully, Karizma would understand, and drop the subject. |

Aurora scolding him he could handle, after all, she was probably right. Besides how was he supposed to know that she had Slytherin's in her family? Yet he wasn't going to apoligize, because he stood by what he'd said, Karizma was evil, and there was no doubt about it. He then listened as Harriet talked in her usual intelligent way, he admired her, she seemed smarter then anyone he knew. Then of course Karizma opened her mouth, and sent some evil look at him. He wasn't going to say anything, until of course she made the comment saying that boys shouldn't be allowed to speak. "You're kidding me right?" he asked, "You're the one who shouldn't be allowed to speak, all you do is put others down! You don't care about anyone, so why should anyone care what you think!" |
