Kayla raised her eyebrows and scribbled back, "She shot me this...death glare...." she shuddered, "It was really kinda creepy...Any idea what her problem is??"

Aurora sighed before writing, "Her problem is you're not a Slytherin....She's got major pride for her house. I got into it with her a little during potions class once..." She finished, passing the paper back, Aurora was glad she sat pretty close to Kayla.

Amanda was scrawling down more notes when she got the note back, and nearly started taking notes on that paper too!

"Pretty cool! This class is gonna be soo much fun!" She excitedly wrote back.

Karizma watched the bubble heads passing notes back and forth. She figured after the Kayla girl had seen here shot off a death glare that the girl had wanted to know what was going on. Of course Aurora wouldn't have anything nice to say, she'd already experience a confrontation with Karizma, and there was no way she was going to forget it.

Karizma turned back to the teacher, who was still rambling on about some lame spell or other, at least, she thought that was what he was on about. She took another piece of parchment out and began to poke it, putting little emerald green dots everywhere. She then began to connect the dots, imagining that she was back in her common room, relaxing.

Transfigurations Professor
"Well....can't you transform not only people...but object as well?" Kayla asked and Professor Illiad smiled.

"I was hoping someone would bring that up and five points for doing so, Ms. Kensington!" Illiad said, then continued. "Transformation fits under the category of Appearance Altering Spells, but it truly is a process all its own. You are changing the make up of one object, transfiguring it into something completely different. Actually, this will be the first thing we do today, but first let me explain the last two types of transfiguration."

"First off, there are Conjuring Spells, which transfer an object from one place to another. So say I can take that note form Ms. Sparks without moving a finger," he suggested and did so, the note appearing in his hand. "No more of this nonsense, girls, pay attention."

"Lastly their are Animation Spells, which animate inanimate objects, bringing them to life. I will let you all finishing jotting down your notes and then we will begin."

Lucas liked this class, he liked the way the teacher made the students pay attention. He had really enjoyed the owl flying out the window trick, and then the girls had lost their note that they had been passing. He jotted down the notes, and was glad that he had sat near the front, it meant that he wouldn't be tempted to pull anything that might get him into trouble. Once he had all the notes he looked over at the teacher to show that his attention was focused solely on the class. He couldn't wait to learn how to actually use spells.

Kayla went red when the professor got onto Aurora and herself about the note passing. She sank slightly in her chair but continued listening. She cheered up when she heard that her answer had been correct and the answer he had been looking for.

She looked around the room and made a mental note on every student in there so that if she ran into any of them again she would be able to aproach them with confadence.

Aurora looked shocked as her note was taken from her by the teacher, but just smiled at what had happen, yes this class was going to be very interesting she thought. She looked around to see if the owl was still there but couldn't find it anywhere. She began scrawling down notes from what the teacher had just said.

'So,' Aurora thought to herself. 'The owl trick really was one...' She smiled a bit more as she continued her notes, she'd have to continue talking to Kayla later on, maybe back in the common room. She finished her notes and looked up at the teacher patiently, eager to begin.

Transfigurations Professor
"Okay, so let us begin," Professor Illiad said loudly, snapping his class out of its sleepy trance. "Today we will be performing a simple transfiguration. We will be transforming galleons into ladybugs, and I better get them all back," he added because students had before tried to steal the coins.

"Now it is absolutely necessary that you see the object in your mind, so here is your reference," the professor said, tapping his wand on his chalkboard. A large poster of a ladybug appeared. "Now, don't think too literally, because this could end up happening."

He flicked a coin up off of his thumb and quickly flicked his wand in its direction. Instantly the coin transformed into a ladybug, which was the size of that in the poster. It began to buzz around the room, next landing on a desk in the front row. The professor pointed his wand at the giant ladybug and it transformed back into a coin, which then disappeared and reappeared in his hand. "Now that's what could happen!" Professor Illiad exclaimed. "I pictured the ladybug you see here. I doubt you could produce enough energy to increase its size as I did, but you must always have the exact picture in your mind or something could go terribly wrong. You don't want any giant ladybugs running around, now do you?"

"So, let's begin," the professor said and a small silver coin appeared in front of each student. "The spell you will be using is Quienne. Just a simple flick will do. Notify me if you are successful. Five points for each person who can pull of the complete transfiguration before the class is over."
