Movie: Knock, Knock (IMDb) Released: 2007 Plot: When somebody starts picking off youngsters at Tyson High School -- in gruesome ways linked to their parents' vocations -- tosspot detective Mike Soto (Antonio Mastrantonio) and his pretty partner, Billie Vega (Kim Taggart), are on the case. The school's dim-witted, lecherous janitor (Sal Sirchia) soon becomes a suspect, but all is not what it seems this gory spine-chiller also starring Joli Julianna, Lou Savarese and wrestler Stephanie Finochio. Review: After reading all of the negative reviews about this movie I just had to see it for myself. I cant believe I spent 90 minutes of my life watching this piece of crap. Yeah, the effects were okay at best, but thats about all this movie had going for itself. I've seen my share of B movies, but this one ranks up there in the top 5 most stupid. I've lost count at how many times the 7 tall masked serial killer has been done. This movie definitely deserves the award for Biggest Epic Failure. Don't waste your time. Movie: The Death Factory: Bloodletting (IMDb) Released: 2008 Plot: Desperate to determine who brutally murdered her daughter, Ana (Claudia Vargas) infiltrates a group of bloodthirsty psychopaths who meet in an abandoned warehouse, where they plan to witness the torture and execution of an innocent victim. But soon, the tables are turned on this gruesome group of deviants. Noah Todd and Michelle Mousel co-star in this ultragrisly horror film from director Sean Tretta. Movie: Triangle (IMDb) Released: 2009 Plot: Murder strikes the Bermuda Triangle in this gripping high-seas horror starring Melissa George, Liam Hemsworth and Rachael Carpani. Jess encounters the first of many bad omens when her car kills a seagull near the local harbor. Later that night, her yacht hits a storm, forcing her and her friends to board a mysterious deserted ship. The clock on the ship has stopped -- and so has any sense of safety. Christopher Smith writes and directs. Review: For starters, this really shouldn't be in the Horror category because it's more of a Thriller/Suspense, but I'm reviewing it anyways! At first I wasnt sure about wanting to watch this movie because of the Jason in the potato sack mask look on one of the movie posters and that it had pre-The Last Song star Liam Hemsworth in it. Well, I was actually blown away with how much I loved this movie. The twists throughout Triangle; how this this happened, how that happened, who the person on the ship was, how was it going to end (I dont want to spoil it for anyone who hasnt seen this movie yet), all these elements kept me interested. I am surprised that I havent seen this movie sooner and even more surprised that I dont have this in my collection. Kudos to Christopher Smith for making a fantastic flick. Movie: Daybreakers(IMDb) Released: 2010 Plot: Earth's population is up against a vicious plague that's transforming everyone into vampires and draining the world of an increasingly precious resource: blood. Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) and "Elvis" Cormac (Willem Dafoe) must decide what happens next. As the human race count nears zero, will vampires feast on the few men and women who remain, or could science hold the key to a less destructive solution? Sam Neill and Claudia Karvan co-star. Review: I just watched Daybreakers for the first time yesterday and I have to say I really loved it. Then again, I love it when anyone puts out a well put together vampire flick. The story line, great. The graphics, awesome. The idea of if the vampires were deprived of blood for a period of time that they turned into subsiders, your 'traditional' looking vampire, was fantastic, the fact that they treated the subsiders as your basic homeless person living in the subway tunnels. This is a movie I wish I had seen in the theater as well and it's a shame I hadn't. I haven't liked an Ethan Hawke movie since he did Alive back in '93, so kudos! If you haven't seen Daybreakers and you love dark vampire movies, this is a must see. MORE TO COME..... STAY TUNED |
