Gail Kim...ALWAYS a Champion!!

Was watching Megumi Kudo's final match today...April 29, 1997 v Shark Tschuiya for the WWA & Independent Titles...and am secure enough to admit that my eyes welled up quite a bit, post-match, despite having seen it many times. It was a BRUTAL match, inside a Barbed Wire ring with explosives, one part of the ring was open & there were explosive barbed wire boards on the floor of the open part of the ring. Anyway, Megumi won & retired (at the age of 27 ) as Champion but the match took a severe toll on her & she was carried to the back, where a hoard of reporters & other wrestlers were located. I know that 90% of it was part "script" but the emotion of her final match & seeing her in "agony" and Onita & Hayabusa crying, got to me & seemed genuine!!Megumi is my favorite female wrestler of all-time & it got me thinking about my second-favorite wrestler...#1 in the USA..., Gail Kim, and what would happen in a similar scenario: It's in the future & the TNA's Women's division is more popular than ever. Gail has decided to retire & wants to end her "blood feud" with the TNA Women's Champion, Awesome Kong in a final showdown at one of the bigger TNA PPVs of the year...insert one, if you like. The match will be a No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere match & is BRUTAL. Despite the severe toll & beating Gail takes from Kong, she wins the match...the crowd goes NUTS...but needs to be carried to the back & is met by Christian Cage, Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe, who help with Gail but also are very emotional. Gail sobs while handing her TNA Women's Title to Traci Brooks & Christy Hemme and is taken away in an ambulance to the hospital.... Hopefully, Gail will continue to wrestle for many years ...but I thought the scenarios involving my two favorite female wrestlers of all-time & think that TNA's involvement in Japan and Gail's popularity, rivaling that of Megumi's popularity in Japan in 1997, make it impossible to ignore and, like Megumi, would be an AMAZING end to an AMAZING career!!What do you guys think? Wonder what Gail would think? |

Not a bad idea, but a little to melodramatic for me. I would like to see Awesome Kong and the rest of the TNA Knockouts removed to the hospital after Gail Kim has cleaned up the ring by tossing them all out. Then there would be one hell of a party with all the TNA talent in front of the cameras and behind to give Gail Kim the kind of sendoff she so richly deserves. Thanks for asking. |

Like your idea, John but don't think my idea is too "melodramatic"
