From PW Torch ... . Kong overpowered both ODB and Kim early. Kim legdropped Kong as ODB held over over the top rope. Kong fell to the floor. ODB and Kim then battled, exchanging leverage pin attempts. Kim got the better of ODB and then climbed to the top rope. Instead of diving at ODB, she turned to dive at Kong on the floor. Kong caught her. ODB then dove onto both of them, prompting a "TNA, TNA" chant to break out. ODB and Kim returned to the ring and fought with Kong recovering at ringside. ODB gave Kim an overhead suplex, then she patted her breasts. Kim came right back with a big spear. She punched ODB repeatedly in the corner, but ODB lifted her. Kim escaped and yanked ODB to the floor. Kong then entered the ring and grabbed Kim by her hair, yanking her around. She collided with her and knocked her hard to the mat. Kim came back with a crucifix attempt. Kong blocked it and went for her spinning backfist. Kim blocked it and gave Kong a jawbreaker with her knees. Kong fired back with a hard clothesline and threw Kim shoulder-first into the ringpost. ODB returned to the ring and low-dropkicked Kong's ankle. Kong ducked an ODB enzuigiri attempt and lifted her by the throat and slammed her to the mat. Kim returned to the ring and she and ODB took turns punching Kong. Kong remained on her feet. ODB pulled out her flask and took a swig. Kim did the same. Tenay said, "You gotta be kidding?" Kim winced at the taste. They double missile dropkicked Kong to take her down. ODB and Kim broke up each other's pin attempts, though, then went after each other. Kim clotheslined ODB to the mat. Kong lifted Kim, but ODB schoolboyed Kong for a near fall. It would have been a tough call as Kim was on top of Kong, also, during the pin attempt. Kong gave Kim an Implant Buster. Kon then splashed Kim off the second rope. ODB dove over Kong to break up the pin. It was really awkward, as Kong still had Kim covered and Kim's shoulders were still down, but the ref just stopped counting. Kong stood up, absorbed two ODB chops to her chest, and gave ODB an Implant Buster. Kong went for a splash off the second rope, but ODB moved. ODB attempted a comeback. She dove off the second rope with a Thesz press for a two count. Saeed tripped ODB. ODB grabbed her by her scarf. Kong pulled ODB into the ring and gave her an Awesome Bomb for the win. WINNER: Kong in 12:00 to retain the Knockout Title. Edited by John, 9 Mar 2008, 09:52 PM.

Gail Kim...ALWAYS a Champion!!

GREAT match & loved how they allowed Gail, ODB & Kong all time together against each other, at different times, in the ring Gail taking a swig of ODB's flask was funny & unexpected, and led to a great double missile dropkick. That splash from the second rope on Gail looked stiff but I assume Gail was fine. It also was the move that "eliminated" Gail from the match, if I remember correctly.I love the fact that Gail wasn't the one pinned & should raise the Gail-Kong feud to another level, while leaving ODB in the picture!! Gail v Kong at Lockdown in the Six Sides of Steel, for the TNA Women's Title Make it happen, TNA I do have to say that I still think the Turning Point & Final Resolution matches were better, overall but, as a 3-way, it was GREAT. I also thought the crowd heat was a bit lower than it should've been, considering the stakes!! Or, maybe, it just came across that way on TV but the crowd & the action was INCREDIBLE for the first match, the 3-way for the TNA #1 tag team contenders!! |

Glad someone saw it on television. Just ordered the DVD of this which will be out soon. Thanks for your report Lex. Sure hope that Gail takes on Awesome at Lockdown. Maybe the next two nights of Impact taping will set the stage for that confrontation. If Gail does not lock up with Awesome I will have to change my signature ... Destination X: Awesome Kong [c] vs. ODB vs. Gail Kim [Women's Championship Match] All three women square off and we have a bell. Kim makes the first move for Kong who tosses her off. ODB and Kim both try to double team Kong but cannot even whip her. Instead Kong hits a meeting of the minds on the two challengers. ODB goes to work on Kong with kicks and a dropkick. She tries to send Kong over the ropes, while she is doing so Kim climbs the ropes and legdrops Kong across the ropes. Kim springs in and rolls up ODB for two. ODB trips Kim and gets a two count. ODB bridges out of a pin and into a fireman's carry. Kim floats over and gets a two count. Kim to the top ropes and instead of flying toward ODB she changes gears and leaps at Kong on the outside but Kong catches her in mid air. ODB then flies over the ropes onto both Kong and Kim. Kim with knees to the gut of ODB. ODB hits a Fallaway Slam. Kim hits a Spear on ODB. ODB sent outside the ring. Kong back in and clotheslines Kim down. Kong sends Kim to the corner. Kim slides outside to the apron as Kong charged. Kim whipped to the ropes, tries a Maivia Hurricane but gets caught by Kong who goes for the Spinning Back fist but it is blocked. Kim droves her knees to the face of Kong. ODB back n now as Kim is sent into the ringpost shoulder first, then falls outside of the ring. Kong with a Choke Toss on ODB and taunts the crowd. Kim back in as Kong sets up a powerbomb. Kim springs off ODBs back and kicks Kong then Kim tries a succession of fists. ODB chops Kong, turns to Kim gets a punch, chop by ODB, turns to Kim gets a fist. Kong is woozy. ODB takes a drink. Kim takes the flask and downs some too. They both do the ODB power up taunt. They each take a turnbuckle and double missile dropkick Kong. Kim goes for the pin, ODB breaks it up. ODB for a pin, Kim breaks it up. Kim and ODB face off and shove one another. Kim clotheslines ODB. Kim goes for a Cross Body Block on Kong. Caught in mid-air. ODB drops to all fours behind Kong who trips over her. Two count for Kim as ODB breaks it up. Kong with a Spinning Backfist on ODB, followed by a flapjack on Kim. Kong to the second rope and hits a splash on Kong. Pin attempt broken up by ODB. Kong and ODB face off. ODB with a chop on Kong who is not fazed. Kong hits an Implant Buster on ODB. Kong to the second rope again for a splash and leaps. ODB rolls out of the way. ODB powering up and chops Kong, bounces off the ropes and shoulder blocks Kong who is woozy. ODB hits a Thesz Press on Kong off the ropes., two count for ODB. and finally from PW Insider.com ... All three start the match. The challengers try to work over Kong to get her but she's too powerful and sends them into each other. Kong follows up with a double clothesline. Kong Avalanches Kim in the corner after ODB moves. ODB began nailing Kong and draped her over the ropes. Kim hit a legdrop off the top to the outside of the ring, sending Kong to the floor. Kim and ODB faced off. Kim went for the sunset flip but ODB avoided. Kim bridged out of an ODB pinfall attempt. Kim nailed a necktie suplex and went to the top, but instead of attacking ODB, she dives onto Kong. Kong catches her in mid air. As Kong holds Kim, ODB dives off the apron onto both. ODB tosses KIm into the ring for a near fall. Kim tries to go up and over after being run into the corner but is caught. Kim slips down into an attempted waistlock but ODB nailed her and applied a front facelock on the mat. Kim went for a high cross bodyblock but was caught with a Fall Away Slam. ODB played up to the crowd but Kim speared her. Kim muscles ODB out of the ring just as Kong returns. Kim charges her but is wiped out by Kong's power. Kong misses a charge in the corner and Kim begins chopping away at her. Kim goes for a crucific but Kong wards it off. She went for the backfist but Kim blocked it. Kong took Kim down and tossed Kim into the ringpost shoulder first. ODB returned and confronted Kong. She missed an enziguiri. Kong picks up ODB and slammed her by the throat. She went for the powerbomb but Kim used ODB as a springboard to attack Kong. ODB and Kim ping ponged Kong back and forth with punches. ODB and Kim both drank from ODB's flask (although Kim did not like the taste) and nailed stereo missile dropkicks on Kong. It was designed to be a big pop but the audience didn't know ODB as well as the Orlando fans did. Kim went for the pin but ODB broke up the pin. Kim went for another pin after Kong went to slap her and ODB tripped Kong up but ODB broke it up again. Kong nailed a splash off the ropes, but ODB dove atop of her to prevent a pinfall on Kim. ODB and Kong exchanged strikes. Kong nailed the Implant Buster, then went to the corner for the splash, but missed. ODB began firing away with shots but Kong wouldn't go down. ODB hit the middle rope benchpress for a two count. Raiessa Saied tripped ODB, so ODB went after her. Kong caught her with a powerbomb and scored the pin. Your winner and still TNA Knockout champion, Awesome Kong. Another really good match. I don't think the interference was needed because the work here was so good, a loss wouldn't have hurt anyone involved it was TNA overbooking here. This was not at the level of the great Kong vs. Gail matches a few months ago, but still good work all the way around. Edited by John, 9 Mar 2008, 11:07 PM.

I agree and hopefully the match will stay as a one-on-one. I think it just might be a three-way featuring ODB, even though it's not what i'm truly hoping for. |

but I assume Gail was fine. It also was the move that "eliminated" Gail from the match, if I remember correctly.
