The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass-Nintendo DS (2007)![]() There’s no denying it-the Legend of Zelda-Phantom Hourglass is utterly brilliant. Or rather written in massive 20-foot high neon letters spelling out “BRILLIANT” placed on the top of a mountain with speakers shouting “BRILLIANT” at full volume which is at a deafening level, just to make sure that everyone in the entire world gets the point about the game being brilliant. But anyway enough ranting on, here is the game review! ![]() The story mainly goes like this: Link, the hero of the game, is on a pirate ship. When suddenly the ghost ship ( a dark ship which is ancient and mythical) appears and steals captain Tetra. You frantically try to save her but end up just falling into the water. Then you get washed up on an island. A fairy finds you washed up and helps you back to her home. There you find an old man, who will help you in the adventure. I can’t tell you anything else about the story as that would just spoil it. So to find out about the story but the game! The controls in the game are undoubtedly the biggest hurdle you will need to overcome, as they are quite difficult to master. Overall the controls are simple and easy to understand but can be quite fidgety to perform the move you want. Well the main controls are easy. You move Link make him attack enemies or make him use items such as the boomerang, bow and bombs. You also use the stylus to talk to people and interact with the environment. There is a mini tutorial at the beginning and after a few minutes it will become second-nature to you making it easy to focus on completing the game. ![]() The graphics are wonderful and are so pretty. It has the cel-shaded visuals from the wind waker, which already makes it look so cute and beautiful. As a result for these beautiful graphics, you will love just watching Link run, skid on ice, jump, or even just talking and listening to people. It will make you drool and wish that all games had wondrous visuals this. The graphics in this game are beyond belief. Already in the first paragraph I said about the game being awesome, amazing and just plain brilliant, but just to make sure you guys all know, this game is one of the best games ever made. This is defiantly a must have for all DS fans, and especially everyone that liked wind waker, as the games are similar in different ways. This game has got to be one of the best game released on DS and is a must have, so if you don’t have it, then get it as soon as you can. The good: - Gorgeous visuals - Testing Puzzles - Nice use of controls - Exciting boss battles The Bad: - Maybe a tad too easy for experienced gamers - Controls maybe a bit fiddly Overall rating: [size0]9/10 |
