DAILY BUILD

Author: Dan
Changes:
Updated the 'OpeningScene' class a bit, what I'm working on is as follows:

  • Trying to implement scaling and positioning for the opening scene images, so they roughly match your screen size and are centered.
  • Trying to implement a fading in and out effect for the images, just like you see in professional game opening scenes.

Date: February 23, 2010 at 7:40PM
Attached: Just the OpeningScene class, as that's all I've updated.
Future Plans:

  • Going to try to finish the opening scene, then:
  • Get the Main Menu done

Hey Um... guys.. just saying the networking won't be in native XNA BECAUSE stupid Microsoft (sorry Microsoft.. i Love you <3)... won't let developers release their networking libraries with any programs... so .. i'd have to use a seperate lib.. wish me luck =D

well, doesnt matter, as long as it interfaces with the game. should be in C# at least. And you definatly can network in XNA, because people have done it. I dont know what you are talking about won't be native.

Ahh.. Mr (SO VERY) Harmless

I don't think I would put it up if I didn't know what I was talking about.. =D.. but don't take my word for it

--> "The XNA networking on the PC is not distributable. In other words, it's not in the XNA redist and won't work if you give your game out on PC. Therefore you have to implement your networking with another technology..." http://forums.xna.com/forums/t/26475.aspx

I think you should look it up

Most websites seem to recommend a network library known as "Lidgren"

So, thats what I'll be using... and my point is proven =D..

try again buddy =p..

and when I said it won't be native.. it won't be XNA native... it would be if it was solely for the 360... but... as far as I know our main focus is a PC release... in which.. i'd have to use a different network lib..

And I never said it wasn't possible... =p

The current project doesn't compile or run =C Soo...

I don't have my compiler right now BUT someone should Fix --> SpriteBatch in one of the classes (forgot which one) it requires Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics

try to compile and you'll see
