My niece is 21 - bipolar and we thought she was doing well. Tuesday after work she disapeared for about 12 hours and reappeared at my mom's. She was sleepy and not feeling well. A stomach virus has been making the rounds so my mom thought that was the problem. It was not until Weds night that Terri confessed that she had taken an entire bottle of Tylonal. She was taken to the hospital but she already has extensive kidney and liver damage. She has been medivaced to a different city with better facilities ... everything here is not back to "normal" after the hurricanes. They are talking about pla cing her on a transplant list ... but she may not be considered because of her history.

Please pray for Terri's recovery; my mom - at 82 she is blaming herself for Terri's choices; and my brother and his family.

Thank you.

Don't blame yourself for other's mental illness. I am bipolar as well and I understand the desperation that drives people to try and kill themselves. Unfortunately Tylenol is not a good idea. It will damage your kidneys and liver.

I will keep her in my thoughts and hope that she is able to recover.

I understand where your mom is coming from. Dealing with Dustin has been a challenge and when he pulls a stunt or gets in his moods I beat myself up about it. I too blame myself.

You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Terri is still in ICU but seems to have stablized. She is not out of the woods but at least she hasn't gotten worse, right ? She has permanent damage in her kidneys and liver, and if she manages to have 25% function of the liver after her "recovery" she will be very very lucky.

Thank you for your continuing prayers.

I am so sorry to hear that. I have always thought that if you can't be successful at suicide you shouldn't try it because things like this can happen. I hope she gets the care she needs both physically and mentally.

She is still in ICU, her situation is not changed much ... she has gotten no worse nor has she gotten any better. Please continue the flow of prayers, she really needs all the help she can get.
