Nope last night was meat loaf night. He did however, have meat loaf for breakfast this morning...lol. Today was the start of a 5 day goal and this time he picked meat balls as his dinner. Thank goodness he picks his rewards that will work with my budget. Monday is his second evaluation appt. The night time issue was tough the first week but now it is nothing but a thing. The homework issue is still causing problems. Somedays he gets right through it and other days he ends up upset saying it feels like his head is empty. I am still up in the air on how we will address this issue. He is trying harder and his behavior (focus) this week in school was better according to his teacher. He did forget a couple things at school this week. I would have preferred if his teacher had him sit out on a recess to make up the work the next day when it was due. All she did was send it home the next day and let him turn it in late. I am not too pleased about that. |

The day that he forgot his homework at school ..the sloppy copy of a 5 paragraph essay. I had written his teacher a note asking her to have him sit out on a recess and complete the assignment. She chose to just have just him turn it in late. I want him held accountable. To face the consequence of his actions. I guess I will be speaking with his teacher soon. Steven is a sweet talking guy. He comes across all innocent. But he needs to be held accountable for his action; otherwise his behavior won't turn about. I have put the hammer down... so to speak...and his daily structure is on a regimented schedule. I really don't want to medicate him. I think I need to put my time and effort and teach him more behavioral changes. Who ever said being a parent was easy. LOL. I am not against medicating. Dustin needed it, I don't think Steven does. |

Sometimes kids with ADHD benefit from being able to get out and move. It makes it easier for them to be calm when they get back to the classroom. I had a friend who's son would run non stop during recess and then he could be still through the afternoon. Something to think about. |
