sounds like a joke huh?

That is the privilege Steven chose if he could have three dry nights in a row. The doctor evaluating him for ADD gave us a detailed plan I had to follow to retrain my son. The first week was to check on him every two hours to find a set pattern on when he has the accident..done. Now since I have an aprox. time I wake him up and make sure he makes it to the bathroom and actually goes ( he is like a walking zombie at this point). Last night was the 1st day of the second step and he woke up dry this morning. But the funniest part was the first words out of my son's mouth this morning was........
................................
.........................
.................
"Two days until meatloaf"

The last step is to get him use to waking himself up with the sound of an alarm clock. Once the third phase is finished he should have a new behavioral pattern.

And one of the best parts is I got more sleep and didn't have to do a load of laundry first thing this morning. :cheer

I can do without it. I hadn't made it in a looong time because the price of ground beef and ground turkey is so high. But Steven was able to choose his privilege. So if he can make it three nights straight, then meatloaf is dinner.

I do have to say, his doctor was surprised he chose that as his reward.

You are depriving this poor child of meatloaf! What kind of mother are you that he has to ask for it as a reward???

Only kidding...I don't like meatloaf either...LOL!

Hey Paula I like your way of thinking better. I love the song "Paradise By the Dashboard Lights".

It is now "1 day till meatloaf"..

The boy is on a roll.

Yesterday I found an old alarm clock (clock radio style) that has been around here forever. I had Steven plug it in and set the alarm for 2:27...three minutes before I go in and wake him up. I set my cell phone alarm to go off at 2:30. I figure if his alarm goes off on time and by the time I get into his room he will be slightly more awake. NOPE, that didn't happen. If his alarm went off at all, he either hit the snooze or shut it off. Because when I went in, no alarm was going off and he was sound asleep. He has no memory of it even going off. I probably shouldn't have placed the alarm next to his bed (next to his pillow), but if I didn't it wouldn't be loud enough and he would sleep through it. I need to figure something else out.

Anyways one more night to go and he gets his reward.

Good for him!

We are dealing with ADHD with Lyndon again. Problem is, dad doesn't believe it actually exists, so for a couple of years I've not done anything, but he seemed to start off this school with problems, so I'm going behind dad's back again and getting the boy some help. He usually is pretty good until spring. But he has an awesome teacher this year that will be a big help.
