Thanks everyone. It all happened so fast. She was having labored breathing so I decided to take her to the emergency vet 35 miles away. I called Don at work and told him to meet me there. She died before I could get her out to the truck. Our regular vet called this morning (I'd left him a message last night) and he said it sounded like she'd probably developed an ulcer from being on the antibiotics so long (we'd just taken her off them Friday) and it perforated. He said there would have been nothing they could have done to save her.

It just seems so unfair. The medicines we gave to save her from her injuries killed her. She was doomed from the very start of this. What reason was there for her to struggle and suffer for eight weeks? What purpose was there in our having hope that she was going to be okay, just to have her snatched away so suddenly?

Her last few minutes of life were so much like my Daddy's last few days of life...the hemmoraging, etc. Daddy died three years ago today.

I just don't understand why this had to happen.
