I have been working my tail end off trying to get ready for a yard sale starting tomorrow. something was suppose to happen this week and it didn't come through so I decided to raise extra funds to give it a kick start along. This week has been tough. I have been walking the kids to band class (can't complain about free lessons) one mile each way. Normally I walk them almost to the class and I have a friend who gives them a ride home. Last Wed. friend couldn't help with transportation so I walk 4 miles total to get them back and forth. No big deal since I need the exercise, however I dropped a bowl of very hot water on my foot, so walking was no fun that day. The blister still exist. Well I am trying my hardest to get a good yard sale going for this weekend and my 11 year old son is being a pain. I am ready to ring his little neck. His comedy at times isn't all that cute. I had it today. I basically told him to just stay away from me unless he was ready to help. Lets just say he stayed clear of me because he didn't want to help. I didn't have time to adjust his attitude. I needed to finish going through rooms. I went through all my books and weeded out most of them, made it through the movies and started on the playroom when Jay walked through the door. I asked him to talk to his son, the comedy act needs to go. I leave the room to give them a fe minutes to talk. Guess what, I walk back into the room and my son was laughing and his dad was waiting for a father of the year award for taking the time to actually talk to his son. Nothing accomplished, nothing gained. I am fuming. Doesn't matter because it still is left all up to me. In the morning I have to walk the kids to band class ( which I still would do in a heart beat..it is important) and then start setting up for this three day yard sale. How does your husband/childs dad help you with the discipline? |

No help here either. DH doesn't handle conflict well. The one time he tried it turned into a total disaster in the long run. |

My mother and father were a united front. If you got in trouble, you heard it from both of them. It wasn't fun. |

I have always been the "bad guy" in the house. It would be nice once in awhile if I someone else took my title. As I was growing up my mom got after us, I remember the wooden sppon. My brothers and I use to hide them. My dad however was the threat. Even though my mom was the one to punish us, we were afraid of dad. All it took was the threat "I'm going to tell your dad" that caught our attention. |

That is how we are most of the time... although, there are times when we don't agree |
