Important tips; when pumping gas

I was talking with a neighbor who has a friend that works for a pipeline. His friend past these tips on to him.

The first one I was aware of but not the other two. They do however make sense.

1)Only fill up your car early in the morning when the ground temperature is the coolest. When it gets warmer the gasoline expands, so when buying in the afternoon or evening your gallon isn't really a gallon.

2) When filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to the fastest setting. If you hold it steady at the slowest setting you will minimize the vapors that are created while pumping. All hoses at the station have a vapor return. If you pump at a fast rate, some of the liquid gas going into your tank mixes with the vapor. Those vapors are sucked back down into the underground storage tank so you are getting less for your money.

3)Fill up your car when you have 1/2 a tank. The more gas you have in your tank the less air that will be in the empty space. Less air so less chance of any gas evaporating.

I didn't know about #2 but I do follow #1 and #3 religiously. Plus it's too dang hot to be out filling your tank after 10 am in the morning right now.

I heard that to never let your car get to 1/4 tank or less of gas because it is bad for the fuel injection system.

Heck, I drive a Honda. They last forever and ever and ever. I don't think it has fuel injection.
