Please keep our Bonnie in your thoughts

Last night I came home to a blood bath. Our two sisters, Molly and Bonnie, had gotten into a fight and Molly really worked Bonnie over. (I blame myself. We usually put Molly in the backyard when we leave the house. I didn't see her downstairs and assumed she was outside so I left. I should have checked upstairs.)

There was blood in the dining room and in the stairwell. I found Bonnie lying in a pool of blood in the upstairs hall (there was a pool of blood in our bedroom as well).

She wagged her tail when she saw me, which broke my heart. Bonnie had bites from head to toe and couldn't walk. I don't know how with my arthritic knees, but I managed to carry her down the stairs and out to car.

At the ER vet they immediately took her back to surgery. Don called this morning and was told that she is worse than they thought last night. She was in surgery all night. She has drains in her neck, front knee and back thigh. The knee and thigh muscles are badly damaged. She's also in shock and not responding as well as they'd like.

Please, please keep Bonnie in your thoughts and prayers. She needs lots of healing vibes. We've had her since she was a fat little pup...four years now.

Thanks everyone.

I called this evening and they said there hasn't been any change. She did raise her head for a few seconds once when they called her name. We talk to the doctor who did the surgery in the morning and may get to go see her tomorrow afternoon.

It's been a very long day.
